  • Fixed the Bug that caused players to remain injured when you go into play creator.
  • Fixed the ability to call plays within the two minute drill.
  • Fixed the Brett Favre career stats issue.
  • Fixed the ability for us to change team philosophies in the roster update. If you have the previous roster update, you should see some major changes in ratings.
  • Fixed the bug that caused low rated players to ask for a very large deal when re-signing.
  • Fixed the Draft Day trading issue that allowed the user to force every team to trade their pick to another team.
  • Fixed the ability to change a QB to WR and change him back to QB again.
  • Fixed the bug where teams would not kick a FG at the end of the half.
  • Fixed fumbles. We put in a fix that should make these much more realistic.
  • Fixed CPU fatigue subbing. Running backs will now come out of the game more quickly and be replaced by their backup.
  • Fixed FG distance. Kickers will be able to kick longer FGs now.
  • Added the option to turn off CPU Downloaded Plays.
  • Fixed the bug that was causing RFAs to not show up after year 1.
  • Fixed the bug that wouldn't take a player's current salary into account when figuring out if you had enough cap room to re-sign him.
  • Fixed a big issue that we believe was causing 99% of the crashes or more.
I think that's it. I hope I'm not forgetting anything.

Enjoy!

So I patched HC. Got into two minute drill-when it said playcall, it had the text "hurry" underneath it, so I'm assuming the patch is working. Thing is, when I went to audible, it looks like it did pre-patch. Am I missing something?

Also, when CPU goes hurry up, is there no defensive audibles? or am i forced to stay in the same defensive play until a timeout is used?

Anyone help me out?

I'm in my second season (started with the Lions, got fired, took the Cardinals job.)

I'm not noticing a ton of difference in the play of the game after the patch. I still have a hard time running unless I call the play in super sim mode. Then I can get some yards. Otherwise, my running backs ignore obvious holes to try and show off their dance moves instead.

However, I'm 5-1 so far this year. The one loss was to the colts where Leinhart threw 3 picks, got benched, only to have his back up throw 4 picks! I might just be imagining the following, but in the two games following, Leinhart has played like a pro bowler. He's throwing crisp, accuarate passes and it has been fun to watch. I wonder if getting benched has motivated him to play better? Perhaps that is just wishful thinking.

So does this patch get rid of the injury bug? so I can go and make plays in the play creator and still have injuries and stuff?

Just updated my PS3 version with the patch and roster update. Game froze faster than it ever did before the patch. I experienced the loss of audio with gradual slow down before even reaching the RFA portion. Again, out of ALL my PS3 games this is the only one that constantly freezes so I know it is not an issue with my system. This is a game issue.

Anyways, I have given up on this game. Too late to return it now...so it is going up for sale on Ebay and Amazon. Anybody out there who hasn't purchased a copy yet and wants to risk playing through the freezes go to either site and make your purchase.

Too bad...this was one of my most HIGHLY anticipated games of this year. Oh well...

Same Here I don't think the PS-3 patch is working at all. I lose sound, then freeze that causes my system to restart when I try to quit the game. Plus all the things that they claim are fixed are still broken. I still see kick accuracy on field goals is broken, rfa tender to your players is still broken, outside running is piss poor, ai doesn't adapt to stop you from running qb sneak over and over, I can't hardly get started into my brand new post patch career to see if other bugs are fixed because of the blasted freezing!!!!

Yes, it does. You have to go into the play editor to turn them back on in an ongoing career mode.

Anyways, judging by a few comments... I'm assuming there are issues with the PS3 patch? Because I know damn well the 360 patch worked and even fixed some things they didn't mention in the notes.

The 360 patch made things great for me. Much more normal passing and I've got a run game now. I have gone into the play editor and it appears to work fine.

The only lingering issue I have (and I don't think the patch fixed it) is the lack of the stadium play by play. All I get is crowd noise and my assistants making comments (which is driving me crazy, about to turn off their sound). I'd like to hear the announcer so I don't spend time looking at the crawl at all.

To the Devs, again great job with the game. However, since the patch, I am seeing more and more injuries to the point that it seems a bit excessive.

For example, I am playng a game as I am writing this between Denver and Jax. The score is 17-7 Jax up, with 2:51 left in the 3rd quarter. I have had five (yes...5) OL injuries in the game. I know that teams can sustain various injuries in really tough games, but it seems a bit over the top. I had less injuries in the game prior against Pittsburgh (lost 23-20 in a FG heartbreaker)

I'll keep grinding out as I am still having a lot of fun.

Did I also read that you can now change your Philosophys at the end of the season? like I can change from Vertical Passing to Power running?

Yeah injuries seem to have gotten a boost since the patch but I also have a terrible trainer.

Screen passes are so frustrating. The computer loves to blitz and it's a great way to defuse that but even though I have the play mastered my QB almost always gets sacked. It's not that he doesn't have time. He usually stands in one spot for 5-10 seconds looking right at the spot where the RB is waiting and then takes a sack. He almost never makes any effort to actually get rid of the ball.

I finished the SF/DET game on the schedule yesterday. I lost 24-21 making my Niners 1-2 on the season but Gore had a 24 carry 112yard performance. Shaun Hill threw an INT that the defense returned for a TD late in the 4th (Another thing that's been happening a ton after the patch) and I had my team driving late with no timeouts but ran out of time.

Did the run game really improve? My QB is getting sacked a lot during handoffs. The DL and LB basically just run by my center and take down the QB for a handoff sack or the RB for a loss of 5.

The run game for me has improved. I never even came close to sniffing 100 yards on the ground and now I've had 2 games with 100+ yards in 3 games. The CPU running is also improved.

i'm still consistently freezing up during franchise. almost unplayable now.

Pre-Patch, Marion Barber had a couple games where he would pound the rock and rack up up to 150 yards for my Bears but this only happened about 3 times in 3 seasons, the other games he would get around 50 yards.

Post-Patch, i've played 1 regular season game as the 49ers. Frank Gore rushed for 50 yards on 28 carries (obviously not good) but Michael Robinson rushed for 48 yards and a TD on just 6 carries. I'm definitely gonna get him a little bit more involved in the offense and just hope that Frank Gore gets it together. Jamie Martin did a wonderful job as my field general in his first game which really impressed me. He completed about 14/20 for 120+ yards and a TD. I was down 20-10 going into the 4th and he helped lead a comeback, and thanks to 2 sacks on 4th down by Shawntae Spencer, I held off the Cardinals for the win (and injured Warner in the process).

Now that i've downloaded the patch, I've lost all my rookies? is this happening to anyone else? I went and downloaded the latest roster and tried usign that to start a new career, and their are no Rookies, just empty roster slots. I tried loading the default rosters, same problem.

help? i miss my rookies :-(

I really don't think that this patch fixed the injury bug for the PS3. Players continue to lose health and no one regains it. I have held one player out of practice and kept him inactive for 3 weeks since the patch and he still has 70 fatigue and 69 health every day.
Also, there is no fatigue in game. Everyone stays at 100% Fatigue throughout the game.
I have used the play creator from the clipboard just like the tip from one of the devs said. When that didn't work I also tried in game play creator and also to go into the play creator from zhe clipboard and back out without saving. None of these have worked.
I'd really appreciate a dev answer on whats the status here. I'd just like to know if there was a mistake and the patch doesn't work for already started careers on the PS3 so I can stop wasting my time advancing a broken career.

# 98 TMacFrog @ 10/02/08 03:50 PM
There definitely is fatigue in the games. I've had it come up saying that Frank Gore's fatigue is now in the 40s and should be given a break and stuff all the time in my games and then it pops up again saying he's good to go later.

# 99 x1Blumpkin1x @ 10/02/08 04:28 PM
I am having no issues with fatigue. I finally downloaded the patch last night and continued my career from pre-patch. I did not have the injury bug in that career as I stayed away from the play creator. I noticed too that it prompted me to sub a player out and then back in. That was nice to see.

Are there any other optimizations that went into the patch? I swear that in-game is more fluid when dealing with penalties. It would regularly stutter when loading the screen to take action on a penalty and last night it was smooth as butter.

Also, thanks for getting the patch out and screwing up my mornings again :-). I forget how addictive the game was. I loaded my career last night and picked up right after the super bowl and couldn't put the controller down until I hit preseason and it was 3 AM. Was a little bit groggy this morning.

From what some people are saying on the EA forums it seems to only affect PS3 users who have existing careers where the injury bug was already in effect.
@TMac - are you playing on PS3?
@ Blumpkin - you didn't have the injury bug in your existing career because you avoided the play creator so this doesn't apply to you.
