Al Thornton's only a 77. This guy is first team all rookie and scored about 19 a game the last 3 months of the season. Eric Gordon who is a rookie this year is a 78. Crazy

DeAndre Jordan with a 64 is fine by me, but he's got a F in athleticism. The only real thing this guy has for him is his great athleticism.

is anyone down to make a excel spreadsheet like the PG ratings weve seen but for SG-C?

Exactly. So many people in this thread are throwing around opinions with no fact/statistics and with no idea of how the ratings are scaled. All this "This guy should be way lower because he didn't make the playoffs..." talk is rediculous. I can only imagine how the 2K Insider blog will be BOMBARDED when the season starts. 2K may regret that idea yet....

D Wade has a 97 and didn't do jack last season he should be low 90's

Kevin Martin should be like 88

How come you're not allowed to show the Magic jerseys? They were shown in some earlier screenshots of D12 on ESPN.

No Alexia Ajinca on the Bobcats roster even though he was signed before the Aug. 1st date and was a 1st round pick. Kyle Weaver was our 2nd rounder, not signed and was traded to OKC yet he is in the game... I hope he's at least in the FA pool.

I hate hate hate when i see a player rated higher than a 95. Serioulsy, think about it. Rating players 99 means they are perfect. No player is perfect. Ive said this before in my different forums, but the only two players that should be rated 95s are Lebron and Kobe. Couple others 94s. Hell maybe not even that high. Developers really need to rethink the way they rate players. This goes for NBA LIVE AND 2K9 and especially Madden. Everyone should look at the FIFA series. There highest rated player is a 90. Thats perfect.... sorry for the rant

Wouldn't a player need a rating of 100 in order to be "perfect"? Anyways I agree with you that some players are rated too high.

I mean has Chris Paul really reached his full potential? He still has some room to improve and his rating should reflect that.

BTW, Jason Kidd being rated a 92 is kind of a joke. No disrespect to one of the greatest PGs to ever play the game, but is dude still that good?

Thanks for posting this. I can't wait to see the FA roster/ratings, as team building is one of my favorite things to do in 2k.

These ratings are horrible! I could make better ratings than these!

# 72 footballfanatic1 @ 09/21/08 09:21 PM
These ratings need a complete overhaul. I really hope there's a dedicated roster editor out there who can make the appropriate (and unbiased) changes.

Trust me, OS is full of em'. That's why I could care less about how the ratings are right now. They'll be fixed once the game drops.

its the same compliants every year. now theres always room for improvement. but there comes a time when the consumer needs to get an understanding about what their complaining about.

A 86 rated CENTER in Andrew Bynum = Top 5 rated CENTER in the game.. At the same time, a 86 rated SG in a Kevin Martin will result in a 13th best SG in the game.. The system is biased in some sense. There are more higher rated guards in the game than anything else. So to have a 80 rated center would be something extremely special. whereas a 80 rated guard is average at best. The question is, should 2k balance that out somehow? some of the shooting ratings seem to influence overall rating just alittle too much. so much so that the big guys who may just be inside scoreres and rebounders dont get those needed overall rating point boosts.

TOP 25 SGs:

Average rating of 86.52. Soon ill do the centers. and youll see the average is around 75 or lower.

Amare's post defense: A
Al Jefferson's post defense: B

Meanwhile, Kendrick Perkins' post defense is down at C+, and Jason Collins' is down at C-? Heh... really?

Steve Nash/Eddie House's perimeter defense: B-
LeBron James' outside shooting: B+
Tony Allen's IQ: B-

Malik Allen: 75 overall
Glen Davis: 66 overall
(or better yet: Chris Quinn 76, Malik Allen 75... Rodney Stuckey 74)

Dwayne Jones: 72 overall
Anderson Varejao: 71 overall

Really?

I haven't complained about a single thing regarding NBA 2k9, but I must say that a lot of these ratings/grades are blasphemous.

I have a lot of work to do, as far as editing is concerned, this year.

J Kidd was having his best year then when he went to the mavs he wasnt doing so well. He had like 11 triple doubles as a Net last year and only 1 as a mav

No it doesn't. A lot of these ratings are questionable at best, but that certainly isn't going to leave me with a sour taste in my mouth. It's easily fixable. If you're an online player, these ratings will be constantly altered based on how each player is playing during the regular season. If you're an offline/Association player like me, these are still easily adjustable. Go edit some ratings.

Again, I disagree with a fair amount of these ratings, but I'm still more than convinced that NBA 2k9 is going to be the best basketball game of all-time (until 2k10, that is).

Yeah I figured there would be some guys who make it their job to have the most accurate rosters our there, but I wasn't positive if this was the case for NBA 2K (I'm a College Hoops guy).

Off topic; but what's the word on draft classes? I assume since I haven't heard anything that it will be randomly generated prospects? I guess as long as we can edit everything about them (with the exception of weight for some odd reason) then it's alright.

These ratings are a joke!!!!

Kobe's ratings should be:
Inside: B
Outside: A
Perimeter D: A+
Post D: C+
Handles: A+
Reb: B-
IQ: A+
Athleticism: A

Lebron's rating should be:

Inside: B+
Outside: D+
Perimeter D: C-
Post D: C+
Handles: C+
Reb: B+
IQ: A
Athleticism: A+
