Thats what i dont like about live's play calling its to perfect. In real life plays dont always work 100% of the time like live does. players in the nba run the worng pattern most of the time and the same happends in 2k. in live that pick n roll works 90% of the time which will be a huge problem online.
The pick and roll has worked 90% of the time in every basketball game ever made.
nice! though the player spacing is still bad...i thought they implemented the AI whenever you go near a player he would set a pick or get his defender away from you...it still get bunched up in there...
all they need to do is just widen the court...i have a feeling that trying to shrink down the players would result in the crowds being bigger than the players, so a simple solution would be to widen the court
There are still some areas to work on such as choppiness between animations (i.e. when alston stands straight up after receiving the opening tip, moving around in the defensive stance, some passes/dribbling seemed a little too "magnetic"/fast) and the color commentary
I enjoyed the contact while dribbling, overall presentation, alley-oops, falling (finley flop, parker layup), graphics, better running animation, crowd noise
Overall, very nice...can't wait for the demo and to pick it up!
Looks great! One thing: In all the vids I watched, seems like there are too many blocked shots, which is probably something that can be fixed with a slider. GREAT GAME!
I thought the amount of blocks were fine, especially in the context that they happened. Almost all the blocks I seen were done in situations where you'd expect a block, like a guy going up weak.

Man, I think you and I will still be using 45 at Game Speed... it's just that, I felt in 2k8 "45" is already perfect...
Watched this vid again, this time just concentrating on the crowd, and I must say it is simply awesome! They had Thunder sticks while Parker was taking his FT. Clapping and standing on every made basket by the hometeam totally in sync with the audio. But what really got me was that sequence when Yao stole the ball, the crowd started to roar, leading to a fast break with a TMac dunk and the whole place went nuts! Everyone jumped up clapping and cheering, and they stayed standing chanting "Defense" even cupping their hands in their mouths and clapping in unison, then when Parker made the J they all hushed up and sat down. for the amount of detail...
Loving the teamate AI movements too! I gotta get my hands on this game soon!
Did you guys see what a stride TP took on that last fast break? He started his layup animation and took 2 steps from the top of the free throw line circle to the goal and it looked marvelous
yeah..blocks happen at the right times..there is nothing more frustrating than when a player makes a half-assed attempt and it goes in witout being blocked..
imo what holds the game a bit back is the lack of a bigger court, which means better court spacing..if the game had it we won't see any one-metre overhead passes
yeah, lol. I try my best, but there is lag when I capture... I hit em' when I'm playin.. just harder to judge things w/ the lagging capture hardware is all.
hey steve does everyone have the same leaner or does like kobe and tmac and dwade and them have their sig leaners cause thats on thing i really need this year the kobe leaner
This was BY FAR the best gameplay video, (aside form the HD gametrailers one of course). The off ball movement and some of the animations are jaw dropping. The onyl thing that was weird was tony parker doing a magical 360 dribbling up to half court. Just to show how laggy these videos are, watch the scorers table when they are running down the court, it looks like it's running at 30 fps LOL. That definitely hold back how great this game actually looks. Great videos Steve, hope to see another gameplay video soon, preferrably Blazers vs someone
