if this is the big announcement, then it is a big disappointment. i don't care about all the online stuff. i never play online because i refuse to pay microsoft money to play a game i already paid for. ps3 has free online play...they know how to make a system.

The Hardcore fans pretty much have what we want in gameplay features, this is for the casuals. Good stuff though to attract a larger fan base.

The very first NBA 2k game Sega that had online play (2k1) had very little cheese. I saw more BS in 1 game of NBA 2k6 than 30 in NBA 2k1.

That's not possibly the big announcement. And 2K has an exclusive agreement with Gamespot to make the announcement, so they're not going to do that and then allow ESPN to swoop in and steal the glory. ESPN would only be allowed to interview KG regarding 2K9 with the consent of 2K, so that would be like a person shooting himself in the foot. I say we wait until later this afternoon when the REAL announcement will be made via Gamespot.

so out of thousands of online gamers, they get to pick a handful - that sounds pretty lame to me. I'd rather just have a career mode.

Let's just wait it out. I doubt that's the big announcement. Just one of a few maybe.

I still don't understand why wait THIS long, and especially give the exclusive to gamespot of all places. I know money was probably a factor but gamespot has fallen from its graces in recent memory.
