Guys, the roster problem was crashing the game. That sort of thing is always (and should always) going to have priority over gameplay tweaks, no matter how necessary.

Im looking forward to playing with the real players that are actually at their correct positiions without my game crashing. Maybe im OCD in that regard, but when i see 3 guys not even on the team anymore, I am not simply happy they are 'named', it drives me bat**** crazy. I want it accurate.
Simply overall I need this patch to enjoy the game. EA guys, THANKS FOR THE PATCH, (although im not buying madden in protest, I cant pretend I wont come running back next year; been a fan sinse Bill Walsh). I appreciate your updates as you made this process...almost entertaining.

i have a roster file with all the team names but four... i've also done mass editing to make it so the good teams aren't out of control, let me know if anybody wants them..

We still have another patch worth of fun to look forward to, so I should be around for that at least. From here on out though I start work on NCAA 010, so my time will become pretty limited. I doubt there is really a whole lot I could contribute anyways since I won't be able to talk about any new features I'm working on.

Are you saying patch 2 should be out sooner than later for both systems?

Hey CD,

I know there is a 4MB limit for patches on XBL... so how is it the PS3 patch is 20MB? Compression?

Be that as it may, hopefully EA would have the presence of mind to at least allow you guys to lurk here and read more feedback as it rolls out during the actual football season. Lots of great idea's and suggestions pop up all year round regarding these games...I would suggest as others will to at least keep on eye on these boards for input (the constructive kind of course).

I cant remember if this has been answered. But now that the patch is out. If i d/l a roster before patch, and say its just the 116 teams named patch can i go and name the 4 teams without a problem occuring. Or should i wait for a new roster file?

you can name the last 4 teams no issue. If you don't mind waiting until tommorow cdj is going to name the last 4 on my file and post them so that you don't have to do it.

Link for the first PS3 patch?

Once I get it, how do I download it..implement it on my system etc..

FYI-Not connected for online play etc..I would need to download via a flash drive. Still possible?

If your hooked up to the internet when you turn on your system it will do it automaticly atleast mine did

I did change ratings. And how is the season hasn't started yet a reason to not start editing ratings when ea gave the guy a bad representation in the first place?
