NCAA Football 09 Patch Announcement

We have identified and fixed the bug causing the game to crash when editing rosters. This bug also causes teams to disappear and team ratings to change.

The patch is being tested tonight, and assuming all goes well it will be submitted tomorrow for certification. The expected release is in 5-10 days.

Until the patch, we recommend you cease editing rosters. Rosters that have been corrupted by the bug will not work after the patch. If you have a roster in progress and have not encountered any freezes or missing teams, it will work after the patch. There is a possibility a roster can be corrupt and not have surfaced any problems yet. This is why we recommend that you stop or back up your work among multiple save files.

We are also fixing the bug where the depth chart gets reordered after editing a player with this patch.

These are the ONLY fixes in this patch. We are planning on a 2nd patch with many fixes, but we had to get this one out the door.

We appreciate everyone's patience on this matter.

I think the visuals of the game are awesome, I have no problems with em and I could honestly care less about field degradation..Im just glad these patches are coming soon to fix the actual problems at hand which we all know what are.

Getting some love from EA makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Like climbing the rope in gym class

EA might be catching on now. Makes me think of the older Wendy's commercials. "Dave, if you build the burger, they will come"... EA if you show us some love, we will come"

Climbing the rope in gym class always made me feel fat.

You are not getting love from EA until they fix the dynasty schedules that was an issue a few years ago

so fixing the roster bug and fixing other gameplay issues later isn't love?

And I seriously, seriously doubt that schedules in dynasty mode are patched. I don't think they can be.

I honestly havent done a dynasty since '04. I'm more concerned about the gameplay being fixed before I committ to dynasties-seasons etc.

Same here.

I have played online the last couple of years but haven't gotten into the dynasty mode. I was planning on doing it this year since I do an online dynasty with friends. That being said, I'm not doing anything dynasty wise until the patch.

this game shouldn't have even hit the shelves with these kinds of problems! who tested this game? surely, this should have been caught.

If it is gameplay related...the patch will apply to a started dynasty (I believe).

Didn't have time to read all 16 pages of whoop it up posts, so can anyone give me any info on whether or not we can edit the players names on our own from the default rosters ni the game without causing issues in dynasty?

I have been editing in 2 or 3 players real names on some of the top 20 teams in my dynasty since I didn't want to download any of the rosters after reading about all the problems. I also put in the real player names on my user controlled team, ASU Sun Devils.

After I read OMT's statement I wasn't sure if it was in regards to not downloading anyones rosters from the locker and then editing them or if it meant not to edit at all regardless of whether your doing it yourself or if you downloaded from the locker.

I tell you one thing really frustrating me in this game is the amount of time you have after you call a time out. I mean if I am on Defense and call a timeout, I really want time to think about my call, instead I get 12 seconds, come on this needs to be adjusted big time. Even when I am on Offense I want a little more time to think about my call but I only get 25-30 seconds. At least give us 1 minute and 30 seconds like in real life. Not a game killer but could sure be implemented better.
