I'm very excited for TEW 2008...the new additions all sound really solid.

Yeah, it's great. Only reason I'm not playing right now is because I'm drunk.

That shouldn't stop you. Imagine the crazy angles you could come up with.

I didn't followed this game's development at all; compared to TEW 07, is it worth the money, or just a marginal upgrade?

When a good real world set gets posted/ported from 07 somebody please post about it here. I can't really play with the fake universe in the game, just doesn't feel right.

Are there any current real world mods making the rounds for the game yet?

I bought TEW07 and I'm hoping to try 08 with a good mod for "rosters" angles, and everything.

I know Grey Dog released a set of pre-release editors to try to get the mods out quicker than before...so if something isn't out yet, it will be rather soon.

Since I'm not reviewing the game, I can honestly say I think it's probably a pretty solid upgrade with the personality system, new regions and other upgrades. I'm anxious to see what our reviewer gives the game that's for sure

I tried that HurryUp database or whatever, and it isn't horrible. It's definitely playable. I'm CWF-MA (yeah, I had to look them up too), with Paul Orndorff(!!) as the owner. My current champions:

CWF-MA Champ: Elix Skipper
CWF-MA Extreme Challenge Champ: Ron Reis
CWF-MA Tag: 8-Bit Duo (Player Uno and Player Dos (Dirty Money))

I'm grooming Uno for the top Championship, though. He's a UM, but I'm going to bump him up to the ME scene as soon as I get The Barbarian (who Elix is currently feuding with) out of there. I had Jimmy Valiant, but I quickly debuted "Jonny Valiant", his son, and he's currently feuding with "Jeff Orndorff" (Paul's son). I've got one of the younger Von Erich's too, so that might end up being fun. Kind of like Dusty's son, and now Million Dollar Man's son in WWE. Ron Reis is my monstrosity, he actually fought off like 3 people interfering in his last match to retain his title.

This game is so much better than 07, but it's not all huge changes.

Do you know/have a pic pack that works with it?

There should be one in the HurryUp Thread or whatever it is. It isn't perfect but it's not bad.

Im using the 2013 mod myself and having a blast with it.

I've never played this game before but it sounds pretty fun. Can someone explain it to me a little more please? I'm assuming it's a text-based simulation? Thanks.

It's a text based sim that simulates being a booker in the wrestling industry. You hire/fire workers, write storylines, etc. You'd be best off reading some of the developer logs at the forums over at GDS, and then trying the demo. It's hard to really explain all of the game. There are a ton of little nuances it has within it.

GIGGAS have you tried the 2013 mod yet? its awesome. Some dudes named John Dalton, Tommy Marzilli, Bryan Washington, and of course Harry Smith are just BEASTS in this mod.

Like "Competitive Edge", right?

I agree with you, btw.

Im having a blast with TEW 08. Im running TCW and Tommy is already mad at me for breaking 2 of his goals. First one was not to sign anybody working for Cult size or higher. I hired one from a cult size company and tried to sign another but Tommy decided to stick his nose and block the signing.

I spent a bit of time with TEW 2007 and the new version is great. I love the Cornell-verse and the depth involved in it.

# 18 The GIGGAS @ 06/11/08 10:26 AM
Man, I suck at managing money. Although that was probably because w/ a Local fed, I decided on running a weekly show. That's killed me twice in two different feds on two different versions. Now I know what not to do.

# 19 DTX3 @ 06/11/08 12:52 PM
I stole Harry Smith from TNA and brought him in during my No Mercy main event in Canada, i had him costing Sheamus O'Shaunessy the WWE title and now these two are tearing it up.

Sounds fun, but not sure if I could see myself playing this for a long time.
