Yeah Promotion Wars was great, alot of memories with EW and PW. I remember being so hyped for the release of EWR that i stayed up all night waiting for it to come out which it did around 6:30am here in the west coast. Just a heads up, D16 from the GDS forums has released two awesome mods. He released a 91 and 92 mod, they're amazing...must try.

Really? I'm hearing conflicting views on this.

Yeah, if you declare a winner, the winner wins.

If you don't, the road agent pretty much takes all of the factors about popularity and push, and picks the winner. It's not random, but you're letting the computer take the information and choose the winner.

Ok, that's good. I like the element of surprise.

Yeah using a road agent is pretty good, you wont get a Santino over Triple H result...unless you got Vince Russo as your road agent. :P

That was a great time for the wrestling text sims when we had both EW and PW, and the community had a lot of people with big ideas about creating new text sims. I remember being excited about a lot them that never got released, lol. I also remember a few really solid efforts back then that never got much publicity.
Promotion Wars was fantastic for its time.

So everything's good, it's all balanced, and it's well made?

Yea, its pretty good if you ignore the AI. In my first simmed day TNA crowned a new X division champ and TNA champ, but other than that its the best mod out.

I can deal with that... I generally create a new fed on a local level and try to get them up to a higher level. I don't really care what happens on WWE/TNA except for when they release guys I can pick up to give a boost overness-wise.

Yeah, its a pretty good made mod, if you plan to get it make sure to download the link in page 5 i believe...it has most fixes that were reported from the first link.

I didn't feel like creating a new thread so I'll post this here. I'm playing with TNA, it's June 2009 and I haven't used Jeff Jarrett at all(the game started in Jan 09). So I decided to use him in a feud with an up and coming Bryan Danielson, I build up the feud leading to a match at Victory Road. Danielson beats Jarrett with the help of a debuting Chris Jericho(jumped ship), the following night Jarrett passes away from drug overdose. Talk about a coincidence, haven't used him at all and now that I do this happened. Sucks because I was going to build Jericho-Jarrett for the next event.

Wow, that's amazing! I've never had that happen in all of my years playing EW, EWR, and TEW. I didn't even know that an active wrestler could pass away. Was that new to 08?

I think it was first added for 07, not too sure though. Yeah, I was pretty bummed and shocked when I first read it. Had to do some major changes to the plan I had for the next couple of months.

Does TEW 08 run on Vista well? And is there a really good real world mod for it? I was thinking of getting it. I owned 07.

08 runs perfectly on Vista, 07 was unplayable on it. Yeah, there's a real deep real world mod which is still being updated monthly. This game owns, totally worth the money.

Yeah that was my problem with 07. I was playing on windows xp without issue and I "upgraded" to Vista and 07 was completely useless at that point. It pissed me off too, because I was a couple years deep booking every show and getting my company from small to regional, etc.

If 2009 isn't imminent, I will probably pick up 2008 as my April gaming purchase. Thanks for the info DTX.

No problem.

Bobinc.net has all the good mods out for 08, if you want to check what's out there.
