The guard and center play doesn't really concern me much in the vids. The DE vs. OT play does. DE's still shoot out very wide at times and then loop back in which I don't like. It still seems as though the OT is hell bent to take away the outside rush (which was non existent in '08) and give up the inside too often. Hopefully the outside speed rush will come back. Again, its only a handful of plays but I would agree that the passing pocket still needs a lot of work.

Another thing that bothers me. Why is it, when I'm running the ball up the middle with my HB and he rubs shoulders with a clueless defender that doesn't appear to be trying to make a tackle, both players flop like they tripped a bomb? But when the defense wants to break through the line, there is none of this coincidental contact? If there was gonna be some kind of force field or vaccum, it should be harder to get between those big bodies up front for the defenders.

Watching Notre Dame play last year, lineman not blocking in space can be viewed as realistic. I think with all the talk of branch animations, the offensive line needs an animation upgrade.

I think the game looks good, but the crowd needs to be louder!!!!
The more movies I watch the more I am disappointed in this title. When you watch the last movie of the Auburn running back streaming down the sidelines, I ealized that there were only players on a no coaches, recruits etc.... so unreal... also WTF, captains no longer come out for the coin toss? I dont get it. They take things away to advertise them as new features... what a rip off.... And why are there still no refs on the field!!!?... rediculous

And if you aren't talking about the sidelines, then
On that long TD run by the Auburn RB, I would have loved to see the sidelines go crazy or follow the play. I swear the more I look at these vids I think we're getting last gens engine with next gens graphics. My 9yr old son just ask me if this was on PS2 or X-box...

I think anyone that hated NCAA '08 will probably not do a 180 and fall in love with '09. I think the core engine will be largely intact but even with small improvements in AI, speed, animations, etc. the end result can be very good. Look back at Madden '02 vs. Madden '03. The '02 version had a very unbalanced running attack where inside running was far too hard and outside runs far too easy. There were other issues as well. In '03, despite the engine being nearly identical, I found the game to be far more enjoyable. It was more balanced and lacked the game killing flaws of previous versions.
I can see the same thing happening with NCAA '09. Small improvements in certain areas and important fixes with regards to turnovers and cpu QB AI would really improve the game tremendously despite having the same engine. However, if you've never liked an EA football game, I doubt this one will change your mind.

^But they didn't rebuild the engine this gen, they just tweaked last gens engine (at least that is what many people here claim).
That EA myth article needs to be re-written because with every new video we get more proof that EA has no clue what they are doing.
Other devs are blowing by them with update and new engines plus new physics engines like Euphoria. EA's decade plus old engine just doesn't cut it on the current gen consoles and shows its age every day. Get it together EA and actually put some money into developing a game for a change.
Why are we still stuck with these crappy stadium pan openings? They even got lazy with the opening graphics this year; no team names, just big helmets and that huge butt ugly NCAA 09 logo in the middle.
I actually feel bad for the people on these dev teams. They are probably all talented people but corp. EA ties there hands behind there backs and forces them to do nothing drastic and just repackage the same game each year. At least that is what I'm hoping because if this is the pinnacle of there talent then there is zero hope for the future of football video games.

I am starting to deal with the no team entrances this year, but if they don't have team names in the endzones during bowl games, I am going to EA and
I can't believe all the hooplah about no team entrances. I mean come one you know you will button through them after watching them a couple times. I am much more worried about gameplay.
