We have just posted some NCAA Football 09 stadium comparison screenshots. You can read about the details over at the official NCAA Football 09 website.

Quote:
"On Field Textures

"One thing we're really proud of this year is our field textures. The level of detail has improved quite a bit. You'll actually be able to see the difference between grass and synthetic turf, which is something that's totally new. We also have field degradation, so the field will see realistic wear and tear during the course of a game."

On Stadium Lighting

"In years past our stadium lighting has been really dark for the dusk games. This year we have separate lighting controls for the environment and the player, so when the player goes into a shadow, you'll still see the same level of detail you'd see in the full sun."

On The Fans

"Home stadiums have never felt more alive. In the past our crowd colors used to be more mixed with neutral colors, but this year we're showing off the home crowd's colors in a big way. Inside the stadiums it's very clear which fans are supporting which team. There are pockets in the stadiums with sections full of visiting team fans."

On Other Improvements

"There are a lot of other detail related things we've done to make the stadiums feel more authentic. There is fog that adds more depth to the fields in the larger stadiums, mow lines during snow games, and more dramatic skies that help to improve the environments."

The stadiums look really good this year. I hope we'll be able to say the same for the rest of the game.

Nah man we gotta have refs and a chain gang. At least a chain gang. I hate not being able to see where the 1st down line is in replays.

Got my wish [ 3D Grass ]. Makes a huge difference graphically. I'm pumped.

Thats gotta be a ref in the middle of the field, he is smaller than everyone else and hes not in the same exact stance as the other players (All the players always have the exact same stance in ncaa by ea)

Only thing that I care about is more fluid, seamless, and dynamic animation transitions for user catches, tackles, jukes, blocks, and defense. The stadiums do look nice.

Great to see empty stands, but I got one question about that. When you want to play an exhibition game......is the stadium going to be empty? For instance, I play with Ole Miss and I like playing exhibition games a good bit. If I want to play a big team like Florida or Texas or something at my stadium, I want it to be packed out.

Look our packed the team sidelines are! That carrier dome screen shot it quite possibly the sexiest thing i have ever seen. I knows its one screenshot but im sold.

Some things I have noticed real quick other than the lighting, field ect. are the Cheerleaders, the Kicking net and I believe this was said earlier but the packed sidelines for teams.

It sure is nice to see the Carrier dome for Preview, Syracuse is Relevent again! only took 10 years lol...

Just waitng to see this game in motion.

All of EA's sports games look good 'standing still'.

However, when the action and animations kick in it's been a totally different story.

Check out the pics of the Vols field and some of the other ones and you will notice there looks to be no far end goal posts? Photo shop anyone???????

Well they should photoshop refs and a chain gang in there while they're at it

I've got a bucket of salt

The goal post thing doesn't make me nervous, now if they start photoshopping like they did with Live [I believe] that's a different story.

I am not disputing what he was saying, as I saw it as well, after he pointed it out. I was just saying that I would've never even thought to look for something like that.

lol you would've never thought to look for goal posts on both sides of the field?
