MLB: The Show, Living up to the Hype?

For everyone that skips the forums and reads the frontpage, and for everyone who has an information overload from visiting our forums, I have gathered some quick impressions from select forum users so you can get a general feel on if MLB '08: The Show is living up to its hype. Is The Show living up to the hype?

Yes.

The game is simply amazing. Its the Winning Eleven of Baseball. The Show is to sports games what Halo is to shooters, Forza/Gran Turismo are to racing games, and GTA is to action games.

And yes it lives up to the hype...for people who dont have a PS3, BUY ONE NOW! its totally worth just for MLB 08 The Show plus blu-ray player you cant go wrong!

The Show 08 definetly lives up to the hype. Now if they can make a hockey game this perfect id die a happy man

The bugs are disappointing, but this is the first time I've really felt like I'm playing a next-gen (can we start calling it current gen now?) sports game.

I don't know if its surpassed the hype, since the hype was pretty strong. But it's lived up to it for sure.

Amen brother. When I read that, I thought to myself, "so The Show is shallow, repetitive and dull?"

Call of Duty 4 was amazing. Anyhoo, back on topic.

I second that motion, love NHL 08 but it would be nice to see what SCEA could do.

I'm pretty sure the same 1st party conditions apply to the NFL.

Real Talk. If only we could get games that represented the NFL and NCAA like these games. Gotta add College Hoops to the list as well.

No, they can't make a licensed football game because EA owns the exclusive rights.

As for The Show....it's the best baseball game I've played to date and, although it's still early, it could be in the discussion as best sports game ever.

If you are a sports gamer then it is worth the purchase of a PS3. You won't be disappointed.
