We have just posted screenshots from all of the major league stadiums, from our beta copy of Major League Baseball 2K8. Did they capture your favorite stadium correctly?
The stadiums overall look pretty good, with exceptions of Milwaukee, Minnesota, and maybe Arizona with the color of the walls and overall look of the place.
So Blzer are you gonna get the game? Or are you still waiting for 2k9?
Well, it's my roommate's 360, so I'm going to rent it. Maybe (hopefully) he'll like it enough to buy it himself, and when I get a PS3, I'll consider getting it or The Show (or neither and play Power Pros whilst waiting for next year's games).
This game and the other game are great, don't get me wrong. But I don't want to spend cash that I know I can hold off for until next year, especially when I'll easily have other games to occupy my time.
I wonder why 2K didn't market their game more until now? Finally all builds have been distributed to gaming sites, and they had an absolute blitz yesterday. I also saw an ad in a magazine (ESPN maybe?) for MLB 2K8 advertising the Reyes bobblehead. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

Yep, Miller Park is wrong again. They don't have the new scoreboard in left field, nor the new "party" area out in right field. Now that I think about it though the entire stadium is a party area.
If they paid attention to detail like a lot of fans do, the game wouldn't ship until December. It would be like:
"Oops, Dice K's eyebrows are too dark. I gotta go in and change that."
"The stripes on the Yankees uniform are too close. Let me move them over a few millimeters."
"Aw man!! Who in the hell made his eye-black too thin!!!!!!"Oh well, gotta change it."
Think about it; If MLB 2k8 was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT, and MLB 2k9 was the same, people would say "I'm not spending $60 on a freakin' roster update."
I guess my frustration is not necessarily about eyebrows or uniform stripes, more that other games seemed to have more accurate stadiums, heck the best stadiums I have ever seen were in 2K's The Bigs.
My guess is that if EA buys Take 2, they'll start with The Bigs code instead of 2K8's.
Well what erks me is that honestly there is NO excuse what so ever for certain stadiums to not be fixed for over 3 years. I think if 2k went out each year and worked on a small portion of the stadiums each year by now or next year they would all be fixed. I understand with all the improvements this year Next year i better c this game running at 60fps NO dropping, and completely redone stadiums if not 2k can eat me and i will never buy a 2k baseball game again, cause there will be no excuse NONE!
Yea i what i dont understand is that the bigs looks better then MLB2k8 why dont they some of those graphics first the stadiums like the poster obove me said look great.
At least it looks like they have true capacity crowds this year. I hated in 2K7 when I'd be playing the Mets in the Subway Series and there would be way too many scattered empty seats.

Yes, but at least last year's game had seats. They took out the seats in this game to optimize for 60 FPS.
Hopefully they can find ways to up the graphics and maintain 60 FPS next year.

I be they have to go in there & replace some more of the old code to get the game at 60 FPS & get more background animations in there. I mean the show can do it with no hic-ups why cant 2K?

I was thinking the same thing. With so much old code that's slowly being replaced (this year, hitting/pitching), I'm thinking they haven't had an opportunity to fully optimize the engine.
The stadiums, by and large, look pretty good. Inaccuaracies are different than "ugly," and this game certainly is not ugly.
I think the priorities for this year seemed to be hitting, pitching, minor leagues, fine tuning, and getting the game to 60fps.
Next year, I think we'll see an upgrade in presentation.
1) At Shea, the most GLARING omission is the total absence of CitiField going up behind the outfield walls...this construction has been going on for two years now...no excuse.
2) The Nationals new park LOOKS damn good...don't know how it looks overall in real life, but this rendering looks fine by me.
