A very competent title, but much as it pains me to say it as a longtime series fan, it's been surpassed by the competition. It's not even the best kart racer on the platform (that being the terrific-if-poorly-named Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed). The level design is visually appealing as always, but less fun to drive than other versions, and the antigrav sections aren't as interesting as comparable modes in games like Sonic or even the boost/defense mechanic in ModNation Racers.
