Like old school NWA regional? There's quite a few CAWs and classic arenas out there. I've played with the idea. I had a modern regional universe for a bit, but now have a WWE Network universe with WWE (Raw, Smackdown), WCW (Nitro, Thunder), and ECW and ROH (who share PPVs). Thunder is out of N. Carolina and features mostly NWA guys for me (the Four Horseman rule WCW Thunder - but Dusty Rhodes just debuted b/c the DLC came out so he's going to give them a run, and maybe I'll move the Road Warriors from Nitro to Thunder too. )

Sorry. Got sidetracked.

Each promotion gets their own show. Set them all as major shows and have them all have the same World Title as the major belt, make the regional title the minor belt for each promotion. Whoever is the world champ will be on all the shows (like Flair jetting around in the 80's). Problem with booking comes up if you want a world tag title. Probably easier to only have regional tag belts.

Could also go: WWF, AWA, NWA (Crockett), UWF (Watts), WCCW (Von Erich), Stampede (Hart).

Or NWA without WWF and AWA with: Mid-South, Mid-Atlantic, Texas, Florida, Georgia.... that could be fun.

Some of the better older 80's guys we're still waiting on really, really good CAWs for that, however. There's a few decent Midnight Express and Rock n Roll Express builds out there but they're going to get even better as guys continue to work on them. A new Magnum TA for Xbox just came out and it's excellent. Just start and replace as you find better CAWs.

Re: NWA Universe

I'm still trying to work out how to run an old school universe. I'm deciding between a modern universe with WWE, NXT, ROH & NJPW talent. WWE/NXT talent would be on RAW, while NJPW/ROH talent would have their own show.

OR, I was thinking of a territory universe. It all comes down to how long it takes to manage everything and getting decent CAWS for the universe.

I am on PS4 and currently creating a completely custom territory universe. All original CAWs, arenas, championships, and shows. How I am running it is having 5 different territories. Those territories will have a show that will happen Monday thru Friday. Each show's minor title will be that show's championship. The major title is the governing body's championship.

Saturday is a cross promotional show that is hosted by two different territories every week. This is a minor show and each week is edited to feature different shows. The participants on this minor show will be what are considered low or mid card wrestlers.

Each month there will be at least one cross promotional PPV event. This is where the governing body title will be defended.

The matches are all being booked and simulated by the computer. The governing body champion will be available to appear on all shows. Only champions of each territory will be aloud to compete for the governing body title.

Re: NWA Universe

Spoiler

My universe is NWA (Crockett), WWF, WCCW, USWA. Each organization gets a major show (7 matches). I have two minor shows (3 matches), CWF and Mid Atlantic (NWA, USWA as host). PPV alternates between the four major shows. The wrestlers are placed in the organization they are best known for competing in. Tried to have them all be affiliated with just one promotion (except major tag teams). World champions travel between the different organizations except WWF. Makes all the shows feel fresh as they have the wrestlers and arenas I grew up watching. For the most part all rosters are predated up to 1993. The computer makes the matches. Unlike most people I play all the matches.

All the CAWS, Arenas, Shows, and Championship Belts I have downloaded are great. I'm impressed by the creativity they have when bringing old school wrestling to life. If you're on Xbox One, I would suggest looking up creations from ArguableAtol228/229, jdixon83, thekris100, and MG9829. Everything from the move sets, attire, and taunts are on point. Really takes me back to the golden era of wrestling.

I also play with all indicators (HUD, control help, reversal prompt) off. Provides a good challenge for me on normal difficulty. Gives the game a more immersive feel to it. Entrances are also off.

Re: NWA Universe

If the creation center worked, I would probably DL quite a few old school guys and give it a run. As it stands now, I'm thinking a NJPW/WWE universe may be the way to go

Re: NWA Universe

Never thought I would fill the 100 CAWS slots but did so easily. Actually 99 wrestlers and 1 alternate attire. Had to get Dusty Rhodes out of those polka dots. Wish we had a separate download section for alternate attires.
