Really wish they never dropped the Bad News Barrett gimmick. I loved that.

I think Mabel was pushed harder after winning KOTR than Barrett. And that's saying something.

Yeah he got a WWE Title shot at Summerslam but that's when the KOTR meant something and also big men is one of Vince's wrestling fetishes. The bigger injustice was the booking of the Nexus.

Yea I was watching a whatculture video (how would Adam book the Invasion). And he brought up that if you won KOTR back in the day you would get a title shot at some point kinda like MITB but not being able to have the match whenever you wanted.

From what I recall that only happened 4 times (Owen, Mabel, Brock and King Bookah) You could even say 5 with Regal since he was supposed to win the WHC. But the KOTR was mostly used for mid carders.

Thankfully the crowd in Philly (I think) after the KOTR totally crapped all over it to the point that Mabel's big push was pretty much aborted after the Summerslam match.
