After looking at the poll on the Front Page I have a serious discussion for us

This patch mind you was the 2nd patch and was supposed to fix a lot of the issues people were complaining about.

The results so far with 1,167 votes

Great! - 336 - 28.79%
Good - 248 - 21.25%
Average - 204 - 17.48%
Bad! - 379 - 32.48%

It is very obvious that game play needs to be completely overhauled and fixed. Not only the problems we see in this game but things that have not been in this game for awhile - the crowd shaking the screen (let's be real the routes shaking is not that confusing because I called the play I know their routes and not having their icon is not that huge because I can just hot route a button and see who is where) pass interference, DB/WR interaction, more penalties (horsecollar? illegal man down field, ineligible receiver, ect), a better BCS ranking AI (come on consistently watching teams getting leap frogged that in real life would not be leap frogged), dynamic conference prestige, and some other features that were in old gen.

This year we got dreads - great!!!! We got some new helmets and new jerseys for some teams!!! Some even want the new Maryland jerseys to be patched into the game! All of these things are cosmetic and add nothing real to the actual game. Different face masks are nothing to me - everyone could wear the 1960's one bar punter mask for all I care as long as the game play is top notch.

I know I am not in the minority here - I mean how did Virginia Tech vs Boston College and Virginia Tech vs Clemson issue get slipped by the developers? I can understand say FIU vs FAU but big schools like that?

I kept trying to like NCAA but I mainly play Online Dynasty and at the end of the season seeing "transfer failed" is just no good. Even when it was supposedly fixed it was not. I mean that one dynasty on here that has been running for years even said they were breaking it off early - that says a lot!

We as a community need to stand up and stop worrying about these dreads, facemasks, equipment, jerseys, shoes, faces, numbers, color of the field, where the home teams band is, some one not having a custom entrance, a team not having the right fight song being played, a team not having the right hue to their jerseys, and all of these other things that should be on the bottom of our wish list!

I totally agree with everything you just said. As much as I want to like this game, I just simply can't.

I agree. I tried. I even sat there and told myself how awesome it was and that the patch would make everything better. I would even use my custom defensive playbook and would allow my guys to come out in that punt formation and would waste timeouts and say "it won't happen again" would even audible and do whatever was necessary to try and get them into some kind of defensive formation. Sometimes it worked - other times it did not. I did not throw a fit and kept saying it won't happen again. It did though.

I would even keep playing online dynasty games saying everything is fine and nothing is going to go wrong.

Finally, I had to just come to acceptance and just give up

So 379 people think the patch was bad while 336 people thought it was good. I get why some people are so upset. Trust me I would love a better game then what we have. But at the end of the day it is no more then a video game. I have known for years now that EA's products have issues and more then likely any patch/patch's will end up breaking the game. We all know that. Yeah EA needs to produce better products but we all know the track record but yet we purchase the game each year. I'm not trying to say that EA is off the hook but we should shoulder some of the blame because we keep feeding them money for the product.

I don't think NCAA 12 is the best game ever. It is not even close but it is still a good game for me. I enjoy the game. I don't play online so the "fail" issue does not apply to me. I don't use custom playbooks so not an issue for me. I don't run no huddle so not an issue for me. I have played 5 games since the patch and have no issues. So I could vote and close that gap a little more. The numbers in that poll are close. Now if the "bad" was over 50% then EA would have something to think about. But when they see that poll they will just write it off as "You can't please everyone."

im a guy who is firmly on realism, if you take out the minor eye candy that is a part of the game which makes it special, you might as well just unplug the ps3 and plug up the ps2. The ps2 game is better and more realistic anyway.

I didn't know that, but then again I've never been a EA guy, at least for the next gen system, decided I would give EA a try this year for football and both games have disappointed me, oh well won't happen again.

I genuinely believe now that EA puts almost zero effort into this game. I don't think even they know what the sliders do things like that. EA tiburon should be the laughing stock of video game developers. The effort they put into madden and ncaa is so half-assed it is laughable. The only good thing I can say about them is their art department is on point, but overall the programming is just atrocious. I have just reached my breaking point. I'm about to poop my pants with frustration. I am sorry.

Re: After looking at the poll on the Front Page I have a serious discussion for us

Am I the only one who finds it odd when someone defends the game because the features that aren't working are not used by them?

Like it or not, no-huddle is a big part of some team's offenses, and when it doesn't work, it ruins the game for that demographic. The defending national champions were one of the teams that uses no-huddle, as is the team they played in the national championship. That seems like a pretty important thing they need to get right.

Custom playbooks, an equivalent glitch if it were a glitch in Call of Duty, we wouldn't be able to create our own class, or would have classes with perks/guns/attachments that are forced into our custom classes. We don't see other big time games making mistakes like this.

I can't believe anyone would give this game a great rating...it's like they are willing to settle for a below average product. Maybe their money isn't as important to them, but I want a lot more than a beta game for 60 bucks.
