Choosing Draft Paths

Forgive me if this is a stupid question but....

I've seen on here several people talking about what draft path they are going to have. Granted I'm only on my first career and early in it at that but I don't recall seeing a place to choose which draft path I wanted. Did I miss something?

Rather than generating each draft class at random, the game follows one of four "paths" depending on which draft class shows up at the beginning of the 08 season. They are known as the Mike Zazzali Path (he's a QB from Arizona), the Ozzie Jones Path (HB), Maceo Sweetney Path (HB), and the Jack English Path (QB). Look at the draft board (at the QB's or HB's) and you can find out which one you have. If you save before the 08 regular season starts (perhaps after your last preseason game?), you can always quit and reload to get a different draft path. But once you save after this point, the path is locked in. Hope that helped.

I understand the concept of the draft paths but thought maybe their was a way to actually choose which path you wanted or is it just that you randomly get 1 of the 4?

You randomly get a draft class, but there is a way you can choose which path you want. You have to save and reload to do it, but hey it works. You have to save right after your last preseason game and then wait until Adam Schefter gives you your draft preview. Warning...do not save after the Draft Preview unless you want that draft path.

Cheers!

Re: Choosing Draft Paths

Here I have a question I haven't completely figured out but at least I took the time to search before asking. How can you know which draft path you have if you have a career with the last online roster and skipped the 2008 draft and went with the real NFL results? I looked at the QB and RB's for all teams and didn't find Zazzali, English, Jones or Sweetney. Will one of them perhaps show up during the 2009 draft? I don't remember what Schefter said about the draft preview in the beginning. Thanks for any help.

Re: Choosing Draft Paths

Sorry for wasting anyone's time, I figured out I have the dreaded Zazzali path.

Re: Choosing Draft Paths

after much trial and error, it appears that the game chooses what draft path you're on sometime around the wednesday/thursday after preseason game 4. the game chooses -before- it tells you that it has (with schefty's voiceover and "scouting results" showing up), so if you save too late, you may be locked in no matter how many times you reset.

It's decided on Wednesday I believe, requiring a save on Tuesday. To be safe, save first thing Tuesday because it could also be around 9am/4pm Tuesday. I can't remember exactly but I'll go test and get back on that. You definitely have to save by or on Tuesday though, as Wednesday is to late.
