Stopping the Outside RUN - Need help!

If you play online you'll quickly realize if you need a big play... you don't run 4 wide outs down the field... you run an off tackle, a pitch, or some form of wishbone running play to the outside.

What formation and play will help stop this? Seriously... I send corners... have every player in man... and I get sealed off all the time and the only player who can make a tackle is the opposite safety who wasn't sealed off.

Should I switch to some sort of zone to keep my players from being occupied? That doesn't make sense to me football wise but whatever.

I try corner blitzing in man coverage, I try send my DE's outside and moving the LB's out... nothing has worked yet. I'm winning most of my games but it's frustating when everyone uses Alabama and Ingram keeps getting to the edge.

In all fairness Ingram gets to the edge on alot of people. I'm not sure what D it is but have you tried having your DE drop into coverage so there already outside? I havent played against Alabama yet so I havent seen if it will work. Maybe a Nickel on time package so you have more guys on the edge. Could sub a safetie in at your Dime or Nickel back so you have a better tackler too.

Try running a 3-4. Audible the OLB to blitz, he'll blitz straight upfield instead of pinching in. Audible the DE to a buzz zone so he moves out to defend the flats. Might work, haven't tried it.

Nothing works consistentlly accept the fake a## run commit. But if u start doing that all the time u get caught up in a flip run and bluff flip run battle. so it is better to stop it manually. Bc if u guess wrong on the run commit, u will be gashed. the running game is supercharged this year. You have to sell all the way out to stop it. Hope for a stop or 2 to get them to pass. you cant let them get the first down tho. Or you will be right back trying to stop the run. You have to get up on these guys that run all the time. Its the only way to get them to pass.

Select an OLB blitz. Play as that LB. Then run commit to the other side. The CPU shuts down one side, and you shut down the other.
