Re: NBA 2K23 - The Kobe Era Reimagined

Houston rallied from down 11. The Nets came back from down 10 in the fourth quarter. They took a three point lead before Marcus Morris (16 points, 10 rebounds) sent it into overtime with a three pointer with 15.2 left. In the extra frame, it was DeMar DeRozan (28 points, 7 assists) vs. Jimmy Butler (30 points, 6 assists) but Bojan Bogdanovic (19 points) and Ricky Rubio (16 points, 11 assists) sank key free throws to put Jersey up. Christian Wood (14 points) missed three of four crucial free throws, allowing Joel Embiid (17 points, 16 rebounds) to keep things close. Harrison Barnes (19 points) drained a three at the buzzer but the Rockets were down four at the time, so the Nets escaped with a 125-124 victory.

• The Suns sit atop the West at 18-3 thanks to a 15 game winning streak. The Pelicans (18-5), Lakers (15-8), Supersonics (13-8), and Timberwolves (12-9) round out the top five. Seattle has won 6 straight, Dallas (10-12) has won 5 in a row, and Utah (8-16) has dropped 7 in a row.
• In the East, the Pistons lead the way at 17-5. Following them are the Bucks (16-6), Magic (15-6), Hawks (17-7), and Cavaliers (15-7). Orlando has won 10 straight, Indiana (10-12) has dropped 5 straight, and the last place Hornets (3-19) have lost 13 in a row.

Re: NBA 2K23 - The Kobe Era Reimagined

It’s expected that this will be the final season for Tim Duncan but given his play tonight (24 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 blocks), it seems like he’s got a few more years left. The Spurs executed late while the Wolves didn’t in this 109-101 win for San Antonio thanks to a balanced attack that saw 7 players score in double figure and another finish with 8. New acquisition Jeff Green (11 points, 7 assists) and rookie Tyus Jones (11 points, 5 assists) were all big down the stretch. Minnesota was led by Kyrie Irving (30 points), Klay Thompson (21 points), and Andrew Wiggins (18 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists). The bigs were shut down and on top of that, Irving’s big games usually result in losses (29.9ppg in losses, 19.8 in wins).

Re: NBA 2K23 - The Kobe Era Reimagined

I've been really enjoying reading through the first couple pages of this so far. I'm undertaking a similar project on 2k25 that I plan to post at some point, but right now I'm only though one season+ the following offseason. In my opinion, the addition of the MyNBA Eras really breathed a lot of new life into this game.

Re: NBA 2K23 - The Kobe Era Reimagined

The battle of the top team in the West this year and the defending Conference Champions lived up to the hype on Christmas. Russell Westbrook was unstoppable (55 points, 11 assists, 6 rebounds) but the Lakers’ duo of Kevin Durant (32 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists) and Blake Griffin (32 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists) was too much as they prevailed 133-131 in overtime. Durant set up an iso at the end of the game but then dished to Griffin who nailed a running shot with 0.8 left before Quentin Richardson (10 points) missed a jumper as time expired.

Absolutely. And I haven't had to buy 2K24 or 2K25 because I'm having so much fun here. That said, I'm likely finally moving on come 2K26 and going to use the W.
