Downloaded the app it seems like the phone will track your steps. Sucks if you only can use it w/ a Fitbit device.

Correct. You need a Fitbit device to use the app.

So - this is about 2K making money. Clearly. I know I am pretty simple but I can figure that out at least. What a dumby like me fails to understand is why are you so negative when the money 2K stands to make will NOT COME FROM THE CONSUMER? If Fitbit pays 2K $$ for this promotion - how does that take away from the consumer (us)? How does that translate into you not getting the game you want? Or do you believe the time they spent implementing this promotion specifically took away from perfecting the fast break gameplay?

Bro - you can like or dislike the game - absolutely your right. I mean no disrespect.

If or When this Fitbit thing becomes a required feature that cost the consumer money - I will stand in line with you with the pitchforks at 2K headquarters. Until then... lets have fair criticism - not blanket statements. It's a free feature. Let's just enjoy.
I'm not opposed to features like this or anything that involves them making extra money, but only if the other aspects of the game aren't kind of a mess.

It's just the principal. To my mind I feel the game this year isn't good and regardless of my opinion there are known bugs alongside legacy issues. At least fix something on that front before attempting new features, money making or not. It's just extra insulting (to me) that the newest feature is obviously out to make money.

On the face of it, I think it's awesome. Most of us could probably use some more exercise and getting rewarded in game is great incentive. I'm probably just jaded but I don't think it's that cut and dry.

This seems stupid, great idea, but stupid to only be aimed at the MyPlayer audience, so the pure MyGm'ers and MyTeam'ers are doomed to stay fat?

Why allow the game to give your award according to your gamemode, or game currency of choice.

"Yay, you've gotten your 10,000 steps, what would you like:
1. MyPlayer Boost
2. My Team Points
3. MyGM Levels - or something better.
4. VC reward.

Well looks like I'll need to find something to get my Fitbit up onto the ceiling fan now

Well why dont YOU help? Learn to program like Leftos or Da Czar, who both started as OS members, and actually offer to help instead of what you are doing now

Re: NBA 2K17 Steps Up Its Game With New Fitbit Integration

So, don't jump down my throat -- is there a way to hook up someone else's fitbit to this? I don't have one, but a close friend (who doesn't play 2k) does. Is it possible to connect his fitbit to my account?

(Yes, I understand that's not the point of this entire initiative and defeats the purpose, etc. etc. I'm just curious.)

Sure, but one of you both has to give his account data to the other. It will be either that you have to login your fitbit account in the game or you have to login your xbox account on the fitbit platform. Pretty sure it will be the first. How should they know if its really you or your friend who owns the fitbit device etc.?
