Don't spend the VC on your player until you see what situation he's drafted into. I learned that the hard way last year.

I'd be fine with VC if they gave us the ability to purchase inexpensive clothing options to customize our player in MyCareer mode only. And the ability is RIGHT THERE - they just need to move your pro-AM gear into the same category as your MyPark gear, and leave your MyCareer clothing as an option by itself.

By the way, bad enough that I need to spend 700 VC for a fricking elbow pad, but I've got to spend it TWICE, if I want my player to look similar in MyCareer, MyPark, and Pro Am. Since when does it cost basically an NBA game check to get ankle wraps? No compression shorts for you, Prez - you're still not a 70 OVR yet.

It's been this way since mycareer started. Even before VC. Do y'all remember your ovr in 2k10 after the combine? It was the 30s lol. It won't change. Get used to it

You guys do realize the OVR doesn't take affect until you get drafted right??? Your college games your ratings are boosted dramatically high for the sake of the story. You blow high school and College out the water. Now because you have done that. The media, the shoe companies , your agent etc ... put a lot of faith in your POTENTIAL ... now it's time to show and prove. And this year they have Cut scenes for consistent negative play which is something i do like

No one knows how these guys are going to turn out, hell Simmons just broke his foot we don't know if he'll end up being very good at all.

The media is never shy about giving a guy NBA Great comparisons and trying to find the next big thing. Most often the media falls on its face, as does that player.

And again, for being drafted as a 55 overall, for all the hype Pres gets, without being able to run, shoot, dribble, layup... you can still by the end of your ROOKIE SEASON finish with an average 27ppg 7 assists and 8 Rebounds with probably 3 steals and 2 blocks. Lol it's a game, your overall doesn't dictate everything.
you say stephon marbury and sebastian telfair... in NBA 2k5, when sebastian telfair was a hyped up young player, marbury's overall was 87 and telfair was 70. (and marbury was in his prime by then... and was really good for a few years so he doesn't really help your point)

if you're player is going to suck it should be because you suck at the game not because the game is putting unrealistic ratings on you.

I love the idea of MyCareer, but the execution is deeply flawed. For 1, why is everything worth doing packed into the first year? Its called a Career, not MySeason. And yeah I don't like who money is used in this mode either. Why do sneakers cost more then i make a game!? How is it mycareer, when I don't make my own decisions? And why is the scanning so bad?

Also, why mid season are me and Justice Starting over Kyle Lowry and Demar Derozen? Im a point guard and so is he!? So im 6'3" and he's like 6'2".

Re: MyCAREER Has a Realism Problem

Finally had a chance to experience MyCareer for the first time since the next gen switchover. It really bums me out to see all this mode could be then seeing everything it actually is.

There's so many great aspects in place - using my own face is one of the coolest things (and apparently a ton easier than what I saw from people last year), the activities and practice make sense, there's interactions with other players... but the whole storyline and movie-plot thing is just So. Unbelievably. Awful.

All I want to do, after I literally create myself, is to experience my own personal career in the NBA. Instead, I'm thrust into this strange and terribly unrealistic storyline where I have a fake teammate that will undeniably lead to some sort of cheaply manufactured drama that will push me as far away from a realistic 2016-17 NBA experience as possible.

It's just an unfortunate feeling. The realism of creating myself is just at such complete odds with what the mode actually is, where I'm forced to be anything but myself while doing things I'd never do, saying what I'd never say, and experiencing something that'll never happen in the NBA this year.

I understand the idea of me playing in the NBA is fantasy in itself, but I wish it was a fantastical element (myself) being injected into a realistic environment instead of a fantastical element being injected into a fantastical environment with forced drama with fake players and all the other stuff that comes with it.

Re: MyCAREER Has a Realism Problem

IMO, as bad as the storyline aspect is, the gameplay/A.I. for mode is actually much, much worse.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.
