So you think that you would be a 60+ overall in 2k? You think you can hang with NBA players? Did you play D1 ball? If not then you wouldn't stand a chance.

No, I couldn't hang with NBA players, and that's the point I, along with many others, have been trying to make.

I can say that I can shoot better than my created player just by watching him shooting around in the gym. I can outrun him based on how long it takes him to sprint from one end of the court to the other. I have better reaction time based on how long it takes him to move when I press on the joystick, or how long it takes him to realize there is a loose ball at his feet.

No, I cannot hang with NBA players, and neither can my created #1 draft pick, who, in all honesty, barely belongs on a high school court with his skillset and athleticism.

Except your guy is a 55 by nba standards. You're probably like a 25.

You're missing the point. Clearly the OVR number doesn't mean much, because the player you start with can barely hit a mid-range jump shot alone in the practice gym. That is not an NBA-caliber player.

By the inflated OVR you get in My Career, I would be more like a 65, when compared to my player's starting attributes.

Well the thing about that is that the shootaround doesn't actually represent how NBA players shoot in shootarounds. The shootaround is the same percentage as game shots.

Ok, he still struggles to hit a wide open jumper. I don't see what your argument is here.

You're 100% right.

It can be summarized as "it would take at least one elite hoops skill to get that nat'l media attention out of HS. Your starting MyPlayer has none."

It would take something, anything, to separate yourself from the thousands of HS hoop & AAU players. You'd need something to flash, and then show consistently to get your name mentioned on the national scale. Your starting MyCareer player is bottomed out, RPG style, but the scripted story presents you as a player who has already shown flashes of brilliance on the court, without ever really going into detail about what separates you from all of the other players who can run, dunk, pass, and shoot, when need-be...

I mean...Lance Stephenson has been hyped since his days at Lincoln, he dominated on then court -- you could see the handle, the athleticism, the finishing around the rim...and he didn't get the type of hype you see 'Pres' get from the jump. 'Pres' is on par with The Brow, KD, & Irving. But all 4 people named came into the league with elite NBA attributes that teams wanted to nurture & develop. 'Pres' comes in with a story of being the "next big thing" while having the skills of a rec league player.

Anyone who tries to "defend" the current setup is just on that "non-consumer consumer" kick. "If it's good enough for me, then that means it's clearly the best it can be."

One other problem. The media is talking about how I'm the story of the year, and I rank 164th in jersey sales, even though I was named a starter for the All Star team. I mean, which is it? Am I a huge f'n deal, or a scrub who sells fewer jerseys than Quincy Acy?
