It's almost like you want people to be punished for taking open shots.

Not every open shot on 2k16 was green and it won't be on 2k17. Relax.

I'm going to be monitoring social media, twitch, the forums and everywhere else I can like a hawk to make sure shooting isn't too easy. We've put a lot of testing into it but some of you guys are like rain man when it comes to stick skills. I'm almost certain I'm going to need to make a few minor tweaks after gathering the data. Fortunately, the post-ship tuning that I can manipulate gives me a lot of control over the system, so even if some balancing is needed you have my word it will get done.

That said, I already told the gameplay team that I'm going to be EXTREMELY stingy this year when it comes to post ship tuning and gameplay patch fixes. We really only want to fix the issues that everyone agrees needs to be addressed so you guys aren't constantly having to re-learn the game.

The same logic applies to 2K basketball. I'd rather play with a "casual" as you called them, who knows all the above and shoots with the button, than a master of the stick who spends all his time practicing his skills, but lacks the basketball iq required, because he wants to break ankles all the time. I honestly fail to see how having a mechanical muscle memory of how to move the stick (because this is what it is) makes one a better player. Just my two cents.
Do you have a better suggestion? (Genuinely curious)

Second paragraph is big.

Thanks for that.

I for one applaud lord Beluba for pushing people to learn the sticks. It's about time to do away with the archaic button.

That's pleasing. I felt 2k16 was overpatched in terms of gameplay. Lots of overcompensating for online cheesing which made offline play suffer. It just became less fun and more frustrating when playing against the computer.
I spose it's tricky for you guys to find the right balance between offline and online priority though. Let's hope the sacrifice is less existent this year.

Can you say whether shots off the dribble will far more often then the previous years?

Now, THAT'S what I'm talking about!

One last quick, million dollar question, and I'm surprised no one has asked this yet. For those who prefer and use the button, are they still under the "grandfather method" for shot success, or will it be Real FG%?
