Was really hoping this would be removed from the game but 2k has continued their theme of prioritizing things like better bench celebrations and bench players wearing warmups rather than fixing gameplay issues. On a side note Westbrook looks so much better than previous games.
also the shot animation at around 1:20 with the bogut block. where the guy is basically under the rim and doesnt leave his feet to lay the ball up. basically a stand-still floater at the rim which was all to much done in 2k16. they didnt get rid of it.

Re: NBA 2K17 Trailer - Friction

A lot of talk about peoples right to bash/not bash details.

It's okay to be critical, it's not okay to assume incompetence or laziness. These devs have under a year to deliver a polished basketball simulation. Of course they work hard, but they will miss things.

The thing is, they also get our money, and a substantial amount of it. So we reserve the right to criticize parts of the game that are substandard.

It sucks when certain details are completely missed. Muscle tone, shoulders, arm size, leg size, jersey size, etc. DO matter, and it sucks that 2K hasn't nailed it down yet. I'm sure it's incredibly hard to do so, but to me, body models deserve priority over cheerleaders, virtual interviews, half time locker room cutscenes, 2KTV, and all the **** like that which comes off as 'look, we made it shiny!' I just wish those assets were poured into the core gameplay and visuals. What increases the value of your product more, having players and jerseys move and look as close to lifelike as possible, or having a flashy broadcast presentation with pointless sideline interviews, the same tired halftime and end game cutscenes, dance team pan outs, stupid player dancing into timeouts after being up 10, ALL that **** I just wish I could immediately skip that could have been completely ignored to spend another few weeks/dev salary on player modelling/close attention to every important gameplay and player detail.

BTW, MSG and Staples both look exactly like 2k16 as far as the stage lighting is concerned.

That animation we see at 0:54 on Noah is that an animation to hold the ball up (instead than holding it down and risking a steal) after grabbing a rebound and to create some separation with the arms ?

Think someone had mentioned the nets previously. It finally looks like they got it right with the knots and everything.

If the rim physics and sound is improved then bravo.

A lot of people who play NBA 2K don't regularly watch many actual games either so.. of course they'd think so. PG isn't a thick guy he's slightly more than slim. He doesn't have a LeBron Like physique like he has in this game.

Besides his face it doesn't look convincing.

Honestly, after really looking at it, if they took away the traps like they did for LBJ and KD, it'd be pretty accurate as the arms aren't really that big. The chest could be taken in slightly but I think the biggest thing is definitely the neck muscles as his shoulders are pretty squared.
