Something I'd like to see is a "League History" page (perhaps similar to NBA 2K16's MyLEAGUE League History). This doesn't have to be flashy, but it just shows the winners/losers of each World Series, winners of each year's various awards, and so forth. It could literally just be a list, and could include previous years already completed in real life in addition to the fictional results that play out in each person's Franchise mode.

As a franchise only guy, I'm enthused about the improvements this year. One other thing though--I know it likely won't be fixed, but it's annoying that in my Padres franchise all the players have 2016 ASG patches even though its 2018!

I'd just like to see correct inter league schedule rotation.

Quite honestly ridiculous it still isn't correct.

Re: Perfecting MLB The Show's Franchise Mode

- Single A Games / Stastistics

- Expanded Coaching Staffs (Create generic hitting/pitching coaches ((to avoid the nuisance of liscensing)) with actual attributes that affect your players)

- Rotating Interleague Schedules

- Complete Rebuild of the Scouting System

- Complete Rebuild of AI team building / trade logic / budget management

- More Nuanced Attributes for Pitchers (vs RHB, vs LHB)

- More Variation Seen in Spring Training Lineups

- Team Relocation / Import a Team

Re: Perfecting MLB The Show's Franchise Mode

Solid read, and all great points/ideas(and comments as well)

Some things that I've been looking for over the years(some of these might just be repeated as other users have mentioned them ad well)

-Contract extentions. Be it spring training, in season, or off season, I'd love to have that aspect in the game(hell, you can do it in Madden!)
-Stadium prices/upgrades. I know some users don't enjoy setting prices of food and tshirts, but this one does! I'm sure there could be an option to turn it off/on. And the ability to upgrade your stadium:add more seats, push the outfield wall back further, etc etc(again, how is Madden ahead of them on this?)
-Expanded class A. Just adding the 15 more spots for a full 25 would make me happy. Playable or not, sometimes those extra prospects come on handy.
-Rehab games. I'd LOVE for this to get implimented someday. If my ace is on the shelf for 2 months, maybe I wanna ease him back into things with a start in AA then one in AAA before I bring him back up.
-Agents. They obviously don't need to be real life people(maybe even a spot for the devs to put themselves in?). Perhaps "Frank Henry" is the Scott Boras type guy. If my power slugging first baseman is a "Frank Henry guy" maybe it's gonna take more for me to sign him when his contact is up. Or maybe he's less likely to sign an extention(going back to my first want)
-Rainouts/doubleheaders. I mean, c'man they were in MVP.
-Suspensions. I know MLB wants NO part of that aspect, but if a guy throws at me multiple times and gets ejected, he should be suspended..especially in something like a playoff series.

I'm sure there's more but I'm short on time

They both just haven't caught up to it yet or....figure OOTP isn't big enough to care about it.(I'm talking about suspensions here)
(just like it took two years for the MLB to have the Show see the old "snot rocket" cut scene and force them to remove it)

GUARANTEED that the reason it's not in the Show is the reason stated by the other poster.

Re: Perfecting MLB The Show's Franchise Mode

1. more in depth hitter vs pitcher histories. For instance....John Public is hitting .350 in his career vs Bob Jones with 6 extra base hits. Have the person with the advantage in the numbers get a boost. Doesn't always mean he'll succeed...but he has a better shot than maybe against someone who "owns" him.

2. More specialization. For instance....that LOOGY (lefty one out guy) in the bullpen....or that lefty masher off your bench. Maybe utilize that in the contract stage for conditions.

3. Custom schedules. Give a blueprint of the schedule but also allow the player to have more flexibility with it.

4. Perhaps incorporate an ownership/GM mode within franchise? This could also throw in potential expansion/relocation options.

5. Perhaps an "in studio" highlight package of not only your game but other games. (maybe after the 5th inning..."We go to Secaucus to the MLB Network studios for this update...sponsored by MLB The Show") Also...if you are in a pennant race late in the season....have "scores of interest" appear and have announcers make mention of it.

Re: Perfecting MLB The Show's Franchise Mode

Nice article; if they could fix the starter and reliever sim management, that would be massive. This has got to be a priority for them.

But FFS people, can we not all start spouting off on what little things we want in the game when someone has made a nice thread which is trying to focus on particular areas for improvement? It's no wonder the devs have so much trouble fixing the highest priority issues, as they always end up getting drowned out in a sea of wishlists. Focus on what the OP focuses on.

Grinds my gears >: (
