Re: Madden NFL 16 Community Impressions

I waited to start a franchise because of all the confidence issues. Finally started my Dolphins franchise using the user coach create to turn off drive goals. Worked for 3 games and then in my fourth the CPU wouldn't snap the ball on pass plays. Backed out and tried doing it a couple times but no dice. Plus they had nobody at RG! There was a giant hole there! So I had to go to an older save file and play them as a true cpu team. Omg, the stupid XP crap popping up everywhere. Who asked for this junk? The merging of my player crap with franchise to get this stuff stinks. In the past two years I have never manually progressed a player. I just want the game to do it realistically. I don't want cheese and I don't want an RPG. I just want football.

Please let us reset confidence or fix that over powered new feature so it doesn't wreck things anymore. Disappointed in the Madden team right now for being very open until the first patch and nothing but crickets since then. Madden 16 is the best game they put out in a long time and yet it can't get out of its own way at times.

Hmmmmm, hearing that there are issues with franchise mode just made me back off from buying this. I keep hearing it is the best Madden is a while but Franchise mode is where it is at for me....

That is frustrating. At the very least give us the option to turn the in-game pop-ups off.

Re: Madden NFL 16 Community Impressions

Camera Issues: Remedy? Give us a custom cam or more cam options.

I don't know why this has been such a struggle over the recent years but once again the zoom cam is so close but yet so far away from perfection. I guess what i am saying is..the zoom cam needs tweaking ...it's a too close on run plays once the RB gets past the scrimmage line but oddly not every play but most, and the zoom cam is a too close during pass plays once the WR catches the ball... some times, oddly, the zoom cam lowers down to knee level during pass plays once WR catches the ball. Why this happens is very odd but there is two ways to completely put the end to cam rants, read below

BEST THING TO DO TO FIX THIS> Give us a more variants of zoom cam...say a zoom 1 cam, zoom 2 cam, zoom 3 cam as options to choose from not just one zoom cam and call it a day or simply give us a custom cam, in other words, give us "more options" ..the more options the more gamers will feel satisfied, its not rocket science in this day of technology and convenience, the more options the better.

I feel a zoom cam that is set between the current zoom cam and standard cam would be almost perfect imho but then again...what satisfies me might not satisfy the next guy...so to remedy this, give us a custom cam, Please. The game is great this year...sliders are effective and its the best madden in a decade, no doubt but the cam issues need to be fixed or given to us with more options.

Giving us zoom options on camera angles would be fantastic. I'd love to zoom out on broadcast and have a tecmo cam.

Re: Madden NFL 16 Community Impressions

I've just bought Madden 16 and started testing it in CFM.

My first impression is that I think that there are EA developers hired specifically to make elements in the game annoying. I received a trade offer for a CB I had no intention of trading (young, talented, great potential). I went to the roster and discovered that he was on the trading block. So was a bunch of other players I never put on the trading block. Then I went searching for about 10 minutes without finding my trading block which meant I had to go through the roster, player by player and see if they were on the trading block or not.

And that's when I discovered that if you click on a player in the roster menu, when you back out, the roster menu resets and takes you back to "All" which is not only annoying but must be designed to p*** you off.

Other than that I'm under the impression that this is a very good game and I can't wait to really get into it (waiting for the next patch before starting my CFM). Sadly, I can already tell that this game is going to annoy me a lot if the menu reset isn't fixed in a patch...

I totally agree and said this to myself the day I bought it. Very cumbersome design.

Re: Madden NFL 16 Community Impressions

I just had the game that everyone was dreading since we saw the speed of the draft class WR's several months ago. In year 3 of my Rams CFM I just played an Eagles team whose top 4 WR's were 98, 98, 96 and a pedestrian 92 in speed. My fastest DB is a 90 speed.

A thing that worked to my advantage was that their #1 QB was out with an injury( a player who they had drafted in the first round the year before) Chase "Booger" Daniel was the QB.

Usually I play a lot of 8 in the box, but I didn't want to leave my guys 1 on 1 with those speedsters so I kept 2 safeties high all game unless in the red zone. That allowed Murray to avg. 5 yards a pop on 20 carries, which annoyed me to no end. They were content to gash me up the middle in the first half and were down 24 to 10 at the half. Their touchdown coming on my usual once every 3 games pick 6 tossed. When they did throw Booger threw 3 first half picks against the zone coverage.

In the first half I was the hitting the deep ball, with TD passes of 75 and 48, and 29 all to my TE's(2 to TE1 and 1 to TE2) It was the first TD's for either of them in this the fifth game of the season.

Since they were down by two scores they decided to abandon the run in the third quarter, and BAM that when it caught up to me. Booger hit the speedsters on TD passes of 21(ehh), 70, and 90!!! Seam routes, fly routes, despite playing over the top coverage, my guys just couldn't hold them down all game. I was down 31-24 after three. My offense could do squat in that quarter. I was saved by getting a 4 INT against Booger in the Red Zone.

6 minute drive at the start of the 4th and got another TD's pass to TE2 to go up 34-31. Got pick number 5 at midfield, but had to punt after a three and out, pinned them inside the 10. On third down from the 3, they got a holding call against them when the QB was in the endzone, Saftey, 36-31. They kicked the free kick out of bounds, illegal procedure. Drove down got a 10 yard TD from Gurley, who had been held to 2.1 YPC in the game. 43-31.

Got pick number 6, but had to punt again after chewing clock with some middle dives. With 2 minutes left they got another 30 yard pass down field, and a 40 yard P.I. against my CB who was at least close enough this time to hold the WR. They got a 1 yard TD pass to close to 43-38, but could secure the Onside kick and I knelt down for the W.

Those speedster were a problem of course, but they were crappy route runners, and didn't really fight for the ball in the air. They could only get open on straight routes. The pressure to try and keep them from getting deep was great, I did what I could, but they still got loose.

Gave up 424 yards passing on 24 completions, and was only saved by the 6 picks and my own Madden 16 best 356 yards passing and 4 TD passes.

I've got a 98 and a 94 speed WR myself, plus Austin at 95 who I converted to a Third down back. My guys don't really get over the top that much, but they are complete WR's who can go over the middle and get great separation by running crisp routes.

It isn't the be all and end all any more, but Speed still kills in Madden.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.
