Manual still feels like the ball goes where the cup thinks it should go, rather than where you intended. This is particularly evident when trying to go for a long pass with a second teammate somewhere near the path of the ball. The cursor will often switch to the wrong player, with the intended player just frozen in place.

A lot of canned animations during jostles for the ball that leave your players in weird positions. A lot of the same old offensive player hovering around defenders on set pieces, basically moving places without moving their feet. Collisions still feel like two magnets of the same polarity trying to come together as opposed to two bodies crashing into each other.

Don't get me wrong, a lot of improvements over last year but still a lot of things that are going to get uglier and uglier the more you play a CM.

And after switching to Legacy Defending my teammates pressure when I want them to and ofc they contain on their own. They also commit fouls more frequently.
Good job again EA...

My midfield doesn't get in the way of their passes and they don't get in the way of mine either. I think this is the biggest issue that sliders guys will try to fix. Right now even in the final third I seem to have open passes a lot of the time. I do not have any difficulty passing all the way down the field every time.

The game has a good base but NEEDS slider work for sure. I am kind of surprised by some of the reactions here. Very positive when there are some big issues with the game. Yes they have improved pace and defensive "shape" but not getting what I want from it simulation wise.

Also do the player models feel super lanky?? I feel like a bean pole running around out there. Anyway just some more thoughts, seeing if anyone else has noticed some of the negatives (I have had a few posts before this pointing out all the great things it is doing this year).
Yes but the problem is I don't know how much sliders can "fix" what's going on. For example, even though on the higher difficulties the CPU often finishes with 60% possession and 90% possession, the issue isn't with their pass accuracy per se - the passes they're making are often very easy and safe; they aren't passes that shouldn't be completed in most cases.

The issue is the defensive system isn't allowing us to put pressure on the CPU to force them into bad passes and mistakes. It reminds me a lot of last year's PES where the CPU would pass it around their side of the field with little purpose.

The problem for me is more that contain is useless on the higher difficulty settings and it's difficult if not impossible to apply pressure as effectively as the CPU can. It's a legacy issue that's complicated by the deficiencies of the tactical defending system, which I like in concept but falls short in implementation.

Hopefully though EA will be tweaking things and this is less and issue in the final release. I'm still optimistic but my early impressions have been tempered somewhat after trying out the higher difficulties.

And YES - I totally agree about the player models! They're slightly better than last year but they still feel way too skinny. It's honestly one aspect of PES that I love a ton more than FIFA .

Re: FIFA 16 Demo Available Now For Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, PC

for people discussing the difficulty levels...

You have to understand the legacy of how FIFA does difficulty, no other sports game that I know of does this.

As you go up in difficulty the computer gains a speed, agility and accuracy boost while your players gain a stupidity boost.

It's been like this for the last decade.

Beginner - your players are godly, wonderful runs passes and shots and the cpu is braindead

Amateur - your team plays awesome pretty much just like beginner but the cpu can hold onto possession a bit

Semi-Pro - previous years this was a pushover too but they have improved it in the beta and in FIFA 16. Your players still make runs and shooting and passing go where you want it to. CPU may actually get a shot on your goal, they definitely will if you are using Tactical defending as the cpu ball magnetism increases

Pro - Your team makes runs about 75% of the time they did on easier levels, just enough that you get angry and slightly puzzled when they don't. Shots are pretty much on target but there is a howler in there for no particular reason. Passing is accurate but as you get closer to the CPU goal if you have any assists on it will pass it to the wrong person half the time.
CPU plays pretty fairly but you can start to see how they are playing with a toolset of moves you don't have access to.

World Class - Your teammates now stand still. Passing and Shooting are nerfed control wise giving them the sense they are more random and realistic but no. Because now the CPU has your lower difficulty powers and they go on wonderful runs and all passes and shots are super accurate

Legendary - You have to make every single player on your team move by taking control of them. Rarely will any of them think on their own. Herding cats... The CPU is firing on all cylinders

No other sports game that I know of does difficulty this way, making your players stupider to increase the difficulty.

Another fifa head scratcher, if you do the Free Kick advanced skill game the Free kick control is wonderful. You can bend and swerve the ball like a player really could. Get into a game and the free kick system isn't as under your control.

I guess it's just dragging code forwards year after year but other than that I just don't know why it's still like this.

I mean why can't free kicks and corner kicks be real time?

Every throw in should be real time, goal kicks too.

The whole set play "reset system" is poor.

Anybody seen the 11 man celebrations that were here last year?

They seem harder to trigger, and when they do, they get cut off. Can it be that they are saving them for the retail copy?

Re: FIFA 16 Demo Available Now For Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, PC

I played both demos (PES 16 and FIFA 16). I have also played both games over the years.

I must be honest, this is one of the best games of soccer I have ever played. (Note, I play on Professional.) It’s definitely not perfect, but I must say the demo is awesome for so many reasons.

• The players have weight. They plant, build up momentum and thus the play is far more realistic. This is especially evident when you play with the women (more on that later).
• The players are not stupid. Thank God! Defenders actually work for you and I do have more confidence in them. They try to intercept passes, they attack passing lanes and they just play more smart overall.
• The movement, physics and ball interaction is much more realistic. Now, when I get beat by a CPU player, I understand why and it doesn’t feel cheesy. Which brings up another thing, the game has way less cheese than before. It’s hard to explain but I feel more in control, the movement plays out in the way I expect and makes sense. The game is easier, but not because I am winning (out of 10 games I only won 2 times and once on penalty kicks), but because the physics of player movement and ball interaction match what we would expect to see or experience in the real world.
• The play is way more organic and doesn’t at all seem robotic. I love how CPU players will kick the ball forward and away from you, how just because a CPU player comes close to you doesn’t magically mean you will loose the ball, and how nothing seems scripted.
• I love the mistakes the CPU makes. I scored once because the CPU mistimed their attempt to cut me off from the ball, then Benzema shrugged off another defender to score. Love it! Size and weight matters.
• Playing with the women is awesome!
• Right now, I honestly prefer playing with the women. You see more of the game's animations, CPU human-like tendencies, struggles for the ball and wide-open soccer play. The men’s game is also good, don’t get me wrong, but right now I don’t know why but the women’s game is way more fun.
• Player models and graphics look great. The immersion factor with all the licenses and play this good makes it a truly special experience. Crowd noise is also awesome and more dynamic this year.

I am usually critical of EA, however I must admit this game is awesome. Great job. I look forward to getting it and playing it a lot. This game seems truly special.

Has anyone messed around with the sliders yet?
