I have messed up the count at least 5 times...in the 10 or so games I have played.

Running the ball fells impossible to do in this game. Last sever games I have played with run blocking at 60 on all pro and I am still only getting 2-3 yards attempt and I am seeing so many runs where my RB is getting hit like has soon has he gets the ball. I don't know how any body can run on all pro or all madden default. Guys in this game just do not block at all. The run blocking needs a lot of work.

You do realize last Year's Average yds p/ carry across all all of the NFL was around 3.5 yards right?

I totally disagree. I'm playing on default All-Pro and I feel like it's very balanced.

Your offensive line ratings matter now. If they're not that good then the holes are simply going to be smaller and three yards a pop is going to be about what you're going to get.

The number of players the CPU has in the box is very important too. If they have you outnumbered then one of those LB's or Safeties is probably going to come free and blow you up in the backfield. If they've got 8 in the box all game then you're really going to have loosen them up with the pass to get them to pull that other safety back otherwise there is going to be nothing in the run game.

In past Maddens it was never a good idea to use speed burst in the backfield before you got to the line of scrimmage because that always made the CPU defenders come off their man and tackle you. Now on many runs you need to accelerate through that hole immediately or you aren't going to get any yards. Other runs you've got to wait for that blocker to kick his guy out then burst through.

The regular and precision jukes and trucks are a must to get the best out of the run game. It's tough to get loose without using them.

I'm really liking the run game this year.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Hi

It was actually 4.2 - which might not sound like a lot more - but makes a big difference over the course of a game.

I'm struggling to get to that average at the moment - but I put that down to my stick skills not the game....

Re: Madden NFL 16 Community Impressions

First Madden game I have bought since 13 in 2012 and while EA has been criticised for years pertaining to NFL football, this year's game is absolutely great. Madden '07 is still the best Madden game ever, IMHO.

Anyways, my favorite addition to 16 has to be the new catching mechanics. The fact that we get to choose between possession, RAC, and aggressive catching is astounding. I also enjoy how run-blocking works as my goaline run/5 wide offense sets has done wonders for me and I've won five straight ranked games after starting 5-6. Defense has also been great too (holding online opponents to 14 ppg) but I can't really comment too much on it since I have yet to test it out in Skills Trainer. The game modes are fun too and MUT is a fresher from the joke of a mode that Nba 2k15 put out called "My Team".

Only flaw I could say is the constant "Moss'n" that happens on deep ball throws. It's one thing to get beat 1v1 deep by Dez, Megatron, or Demaryius (GO Broncos!!!) but it's total bull**** to get beat like that by Devante Adams, Marques Colston, or Pierre Garçon.

Re: Madden NFL 16 Community Impressions

Just got the game and hopping into my first game, Lions (me) vs Bengals.

Graphics are awesome, best ever in the series.

Post-play transitions to the next play seem smoother, less awkward pauses.

Gang tackling also seems improved.

Just saw a Bengals WR and Lions CB arguing after the play and the Bengals WR pushed the DB by the helmet away, awesome.

Presentation is even better, the QB intros are awesome.

On my first offensive drive, the Lions moved easily downfield. An incompletion by Stafford forced third and goal. I threw a short pass to Tate. The ball was underthrown so Tate had to come back for it and he was tackled shy of the first,, forcing me to settle for 3.

Slick one handed catch by Eiftert in double coverage, not an ODB catch but he used his height advantage over 2 shorter defenders to jump and get it.

Spectacular catch by AJ Green puts the Bengals on the 1.

Hill runs it in for 1 YD TD on toss.

Simms mentions longer PAT, pretty cool.

I've seen 2 penalties so far, holding on a running play and during a kickoff (both on offense.)

Lions drive downfield and take the lead on an 18 yard TD pass to Fuller.

Little thing but I like how the coaching headsets have the Bose logo.

Josh Bynes down with an injury after making a tackle.

Crowd chanting defense on third down.

Seeing some nice incomplete passes.

Another offensive holding call.

Interception by Tulloch stops the Lions on third and goal!

Not finding any running room, Bell is 9 for 24.

Johnson with a clutch catch on third down.

Lions run out clock, kick FG with 20 seconds left.

Two hail mary attempts both to Green, both times DB knocks ball out of Green's hands.

Third HM also incomplete, Lions win 13-7.

I didn't see any sacks or any penalties other than offensive holding. Too early to give full impressions. I thought my offense moved too easily sometimes. Thanks to his INT and three consecutive incompletions, Dalton finished wiht a comp. % if 55 %. Stafford finished 82.3 % complete.

Bell finished 16 for 55, 3.4 avg.

Hill finished 10/32.

I think the game is good, gameplay seems cleaner, I'm going to play a second game now.
