Hold on did I just read to only use one defender?? That so sounds like taking the easy way out. On ball defense is the only way I play. I feel like off ball defense and passing lane play is so cheesy

Pretty sure he said "Until you get used it" then you can start switching.

Learn to walk.

Seems like a good piece of advice.

There's not one proper way to play defense, take what works best for you and play that way. Everything can be beaten and real players know how to counter any offense and any defense.

You get two good players in 2K and it will be a chess match. Any good player I play knows how to switch things up if they're getting beat, this what separates the good players from the great ones.

A player can go blowout a majority of the people he plays because he has a certain style that a majority of players cannot stop, but when he plays somebody who figures it out then he gets exposed and will get blown out if he doesn't know how to adjust or have a backup plan.

You can beat a player who plays off ball by outsmarting him and moving the ball, you can beat somebody who plays onball defense by good iso motion (post and perimeter), forcing double teams, and passing.

Mixing on ball and off ball is one thing, but blatantly telling people to play off ball defense is flat out lazy defense. That is horrible. If you are gonna play off ball defense because you can't stick with your guy you need to work on your defense not play more off ball. Off ball should be a last resort style defense or switch to a guy right before they pass for a steal not 100% of the time

Nice Tips! - but man between running through screens and feeling like you're on skates its pretty tough - I haven't played outside of my career - so that's why i brought up screens also "try" to read the ball handlers direction if the ball is in the right hand that's where he is going if you can get a good read on it and hope he doesn't cross you over to the 3rd row you can stay in front of him a little - it is quite challenging - did i mention the skates LOL
