I just can't figure out what the best way to start a franchise is.

In what way?

What I do is drop any players from my teams I don't like from the roster - save it under a different name so you have the original roster is still on your system - you set up 2 profiles for 30 team control - 1 for CPU teams, 1 for yourself - save both.

Then select all teams - change every team other then yours to the second profile and enjoy the hell out of it - another idea - I turn waivers off during Spring Training so I can use my minor leaguers and move players on and off the 40

Willard,

sorry but I think it would be better to keep your thread clean and post on page 1 exactly what roster to download and so on (30-teams settings....).

Here are mentioned too many rosters and such for noobs like me it is all very confusing. Also please describe the 30-teams settings as you have promised in your first post.

Thanks in advance and many many thanks for your hard work.

You have to find your own niche difficulty-wise. It's really hard for someone to tell you what settings to use because everyone has different skill and preferences. Dynamic difficulty is good for figuring it out.

The updated roster is nearly identical to Willard's last release so if you had sliders for that, use the same ones. The only thing different is hitters have a bit more plate discipline.
I am a tad bit confused. I am looking for the new +5 discipline rosters in the Vault.

I am not sure which one to choose:

A.) OSFM HYBRID 2014 V2 - [Description: Pitch Edits + updates] - 5/29
B.) OSFM HYBRID V2a [Description: Ps4 Hair and Beards] - 5/29

Or can I still keep "G.I Joe" downloaded, by KeepChooglin [5/29], and not miss out on anything? I play on Vita, so obviously the PS4 edits don't mean a whole lot to me. Just want to make 100% sure before I start my Padres Franchise.

Edit - Now I see "OSFM HYBRID 2014 v2.1a" [Description: discipline update], and I assume that's it?

Ask and ye shall receive! Actually I was trying to find my 30 team control suggestions as you posted

I will add this to the 1st post also - but here is my suggestions

You set you profile up as you want - I tend to leave the banking and crap at auto but any player stuff is set to manual

Setting 2 should be set up as follows

Manual Control - 40 man roster, lineups, trades, waivers, rosters

Auto Control - Banking, Training, Management, Transportation

You can go into Gameplay setting and change injuries on both profiles to manual if you want to do the injuries yourself, off or CPU

I tend to do manual to start the year and disable any players out for the season

If you want to let the CPU make trades - when you start your franchise put CPU trading on but also turn off instant trades - check the transactions in your franchise every day - skim through and cancel any stupid trades the CPU wants to make.

Remember you can change on of the player 2 or your own settings anytime during your franchise

I have been fighting with this dang 30 team control thing for more than an hour now, maybe im doing something wrong.

My default profile is called "Experience". It has everything set to MANUAL, it has all my gameplay options (veteran timing, all star meter, clean screen and such)... I created another profile called CPU where everything is set to AUTO... In the gameplay option, it appears everything as default and completely different from my custom profile... That's good.

But here comes the thing... I select that CPU profile as my "Default" profile.... So , when I create a new franchise and im in the process of selecting my team, I put SQUARE to select all the teams automically, and they all appear with the CPU profile... that's great, I imagine..

I switched to EXPERIENCE the team that I want to use... So theorically speaking, it is supposed that 1 team (my team) has EXPERIENCE profile... while the rest 29 has CPU profile...

However, when I begin the franchise, I inmediately go to user settings and I see that the team I selected with the EXERIENCE profile, is really working under the CPU PROFILE.. And has everything in AUTO and default, even though when I hit "Settings file association", my team appears on the experience profile...

Should I just simply change everything to what I regularly use, or simply THAT should not happen?

I think that might be because you selected the cpu profile for default. Switch your profile to default then double check (I forget what the page is called in the menus) and if need be just go through team by team and make sure you switch (if need be) their profile to the cpu one you created. Then I think your profile (which should be default now) will stick to your team.
