2k's presentation is incredible! The fact that you are spoiled by constantly experiencing new images and video and entertainment all over the internet shouldn't mask you from having realistic expectations in quality. But apparently it does.

You asking for 2k to step up it's game is selfish and wrong. I can understand you not wanting to see a Madden scenario of the same game being thrown out there w/ a couple new features every year but 2k jumped ahead so far in presentation and overall gameplay a couple years ago that i think if anyone deserves a pass it's them.

The Show and 2k are fantastic games and i will not critique them when every other studio and sporting franchise is so flawed.
Don't be a 2k fanboy, he's right, it can use some improvement, isit better than madden and most other sports titles? Of course, doesn't mean it don't need more work.

I just don't understand why they have to stop the game to show league leaders (and c'mon every game? Who cares) It's just not very realistic. I honestly don't know if I've ever seen in a live broadcast that they show the league leaders in every major category, yet in 2K, you see it EVERY SINGLE GAME. And it just slows the game down. The commentary is also very, VERY boring. I just don't feel immersed in the game like I do with other games, like The Show for instance.

Anyone claiming NBA 2k needs a revamp on the presentation front, needs to share whatever it is they're smoking. NBA2k's presentation is the gold standard.

If you want to talk about presentation, talk about The Show needing presentation, 2K has hands down the best sports presentation, but this just seems like piling on at this point.

It's like mentioning something negative about a game that's already having a tough time to get forum responses or Internet hits.

I just want them (NBA 2K) to get online servers correct, not tied to heavy VC grinding, with standard modes we have become accustomed to, and online/offline leagues and editing back in place, BEFORE graphic or presentation overhauls.

The great presentation they have given us over the years is just icing on the cake at this point, and detracts from bigger issues with the game. Presentation commentary, stat layers, etc. and can be added in, like EA has been doing with their "subpar", but fun entry into NBA gaming, but smooth online should be a standard in 2014 from a game that's been online 15yrs.

They should not be let off the hook on the numerous next gen shortcomings, and the OP has chosen the wrong topic for "improvements" IMO.

To retort a previous statement, The Show's stat layer presentations actually update game by game, play by play. (2K does it after after game 10, and before that continually shows last year's stat lines, and talks about what players did last year IRL in MYGM/Season modes all too often.

IMO, The show becomes repetitive after 80+ games with the same team, 2K14 after about 20.

I agree with this. Sure both games can improve but NBA 2k has the best commentary of any sports game by far. They even stepped up the animations for 14. Collision detection can be improved but it is after all just a video game.

Wouldn't it be sick if they used RealVoice for team specific commentators? Mike Breen and Walt Frazier for instance...

Re: NBA 2K14: It's Time to Revamp Presentation

They need to add more elements and rotate them depending on what part of the season it is (in MyGM Mode).

I would love to hear the current MyGM All-Star voting numbers during a regular season game. I'd love to hear of any trades that have transpired. And coaching changes that have been made. Any retirements that have just been announced. Any trade speculation that is in the rumor mill. The playoff races that are coming up. The draft picks that are being hyped.

These are all stat overlays or talking points that could easily be added (considering all of the information has already been gathered by 2K in their game) and simply need to be coded, formatted and recorded by the commentators.

The halftime report needs serious work.

And I'd still LOVE a weekly report (like Chris Berman did in ESPN NFL 2K5) highlighting the aforementioned NBA news and updates.

These are all things that could immensely help presentation and keep it fresh, no matter how many times you've heard the overlays and recordings.

Exactly. A good number of players who want all this will probably wind up clicking right through it after a few games. One of the few things Live does well is the Halftime report. Not so much the execution of it (the commentary is still very stilted) but just the overlays and the amount of information. Like someone said earlier, if 2K could somehow snag a TNT license and incorporate their crew into the game, it would be magnificent. They could treat it just like the voices they have now and simply lift real audio from old broadcasts. Just create models a little prettier than Doris Burke, and we'd have an awesome halftime and hopefully postgame wrap up show. For all the hoopla over NFL 2K5, they did have the ESPN license for a time and did nothing with it for their basketball game...
