Madden NFL 25 Next-Gen First Impressions

With the launch of the Playstation 4 now behind us, we have officially entered into the next generation of gaming. While some felt it was too early to do so, most have been ready for some time, and now it’s time to find out if the developers were ready also. The launch line-ups for both Sony’s Playstation 4 and Microsoft’s Xbox One seem impressive on paper, but will that translate into must-have titles for each system? – we are about to find out.

We wanted to take a quick look at Madden 25 for the Playstation 4, and see if all the talk from EA Sports/Tiburon will translate into a better product on the field. Here are some quick impressions from our limited time with Madden 25 on the PS4 so far.

I agree with the positive and negatives of this review. I'm actually pleasantly surprised with the game because I had very low expectations and hopefully the title will continue to move forward.

I'm actually hoping that this was just a port and we haven't even seen Next-Gen yet and 15 will be insane.

Any chance the reviewer can go into franchise mode CPU AI logic, progression balance. You know, go more into off field madden features?

And I say Thath should spring for PS4's for all OS members since she is bringing home them nice paychecks.

Great review !!!! I haven't played the game yet to comment on the PROS, which are more game play feel based, though from what I have been able to see, I agree... For the CONS it is easy to see, IMO, the animation and player models needs a good deal of improvement...Penalties have always been lacking...

I would like to see animations follow through; too many times a play is run to a specific point, such as the tackle, TD or out of bounds and all the players just stop and take on a rigid or hunch back static appearance...I would like to see the player animations play through and show emotion in relation to teh play results and get back to the huddle...Would like to see player subs walking on the field as other players walk off...Cut screens should be history by now..

Player models - really no excuse IMO here...the players all seem to be on steroids..Equipment isn't fitting correctly and has no life; I understand NG has the helmet moving in response to the player movement, but what about the jersey and even pants to a degree? There is no life in the player model animations...This is NG, they cannot get jersey shoulder stripes to line up correctly? Here is where NBA 2k14 has impressed me, their player models and the physics and flow of the models and uniforms mesh well..

I wonder how Ryan Moody can get "6 plays into a game" and totally pick apart the AI showing how it acts just like current gen while everyone else compliments the AI.

Maybe Ryan Moody is wrong? Do you have a link to Ryan Moody's review?

This further supports my decision not to get the game. I will not make excuses for a game when they are charging full price and it is supposed to be next gen. NBA 2k14 and FIFA 14 will get me my team sports fix.

Maybe because it doesn't happen every play?
