The other stuff sounds great. All welcome additions.

I just can't help but wish there were more BaGM improvements though.
I thought the same thing.. why do they remove something and then bring it back and taunt it as a feature?

HAHA.. glad it's back though.

You and everyone else have the option to opt out.
You can wait until next year, and go next-gen.

Me, I'll pay my $90 (I'm not from the US).
That's the way it is, and you either roll with it, or you don't.

NHL could (should!) be on a 2-3 year cycle, with full support in terms of roster updates in the meantime.
But since you won't be paying for roster updates, there's no incentive for EA to change the way it works.

So this is what we get, a yearly game, with all the problems that gives you. A yearly cycle with a fixed release date is always going to cause problems. That's why goalie contact was removed, broken glass or whatnot. They're in production, and something that doesn't worked get pulled, whereas another game would get delayed.

Anyway, I like what I'm seeing, but in fear of repating myself, I'm saying that every year. I think I even said that last year.

all my 4th liners have 15 points maximum in 70( talbot).

what convinced me how ratings matter is simon gagne, if you use him you feel that he will score a lot for you, he is fast, agile decent puckhandling. in past games this.probably translated to high points output, but gagne in the game is weak, has a weaker shot, not too accurate, and.this translates well. he does well in transition, but once the cycle starts he is.almost worthless. has scored 6 goalsand 14 assists for me in 70 games.

it's really much better.....and it also applies to when you play the cpu on all star level, crosby malkin are a lot more dangerous than bennett, sutter, adams.

No, I haven't tried that.
Is there a specific roster share that I could try?
Or is this something I could do on my own with that rededit program?

Thanks for the heads-up on that stuff. I'll definitely have to try it myself with NHL14.
Thanks Phillyfan!

I'm a co-creator of the revamped rosters. The link to the most recent update is in my sig (it was from the trade deadline). It's for PS3. There is a thread in the roster section for the 360 version that Porky was putting together. I'm not sure if he ever finished.

And about HUT and Be a GM/GM Connected.

Anyway, the direction this game is going looks promising. The collision detection and better penalty calling should make online better as there should be less illegal picks and also hopefully stop the figure skating that players can do.

Also, I absolutely enjoy the Revamped rosters. They make the game so much better to play and I was able to make it through 2 full seasons thanks to them. I haven't tried the newest ones yet, but it is almost time for some pre-season gaming.

Even the game modes seem mostly untouched and presentation is exactly the same (it's a travesty to keep the same presentation for 2 years, let alone 6!), I'm liking what I've seen from the gameplay. As long as the skating is as responsive as promised, it sounds like a ton of fun.

No mention of HUT this year in any videos or blogs?

Re: NHL 14 Video & Blog - Goalie Collisions, Realistic Incidental Contact & Penalty C

You know what would really dovetail nicely with goalie collisions... goalie injuries. Also, judging by the :15-20 mark of the video, it looks like players react to running a goalie by immediately going after the offender.

I really hope the hitting physics take a step forward this year. I thought 12 & 13 made little progress, probably even took a step back from the debut in 11. Increased incidental contact and better contextual collision detection (eg, dives leading to trips and "chain-reaction hits).

I thought I spotted new animations when they spotlighted the net battle. It looked like more shoving/jostling rather than the sticky tie-up. Maybe that wasn't a true net battle, but it looked good regardless.
