For the guys talking about the Revamped rosters- just to let you know, we are already working on the rosters for NHL 14. We are currently putting together scouting reports for every single player on every organization.

We are coming up with an average for every attribute too. So let's say the average for speed is 78. This means that a player with average speed will have a 78. Slower players will have less than a 78 and faster players will have greater than a 78. Each league will have its own set of average attributes too. So say the average speed rating for NHL players is 78, the average speed rating for AHL players might be 74.

Our new team member Cycloniac has been busy determining the shooting accuracies for every player. They are based off of shooting percentages and the amount of shots the players take. So far, the average shooting accuracy for NHLers is 75.

Right now, I am almost done putting the scouting reports together for all the players. I just finished San Jose, so I have 6 more teams to go.

This is what our current schedule looks like:

1. Finish putting together scouting reports
2. All members of our team will give every player an overall rating based off of the scouting reports. We will determine the final overall for each player by averaging the ratings given by our team members. We would like even more opinions for the overalls for the players, so if you're interested, send a PM to Puckhead73.
3. Determine the attributes for each player based off of the scouting reports. After we determine the attributes for each player, as long as the final overall falls within around 3 overall points of the averaged overall, we will be okay with it.

We would like to complete this before NHL 14 hits the shelves. So as I said, if you guys are interested in helping out and giving overall ratings for the players, send a PM to Puckhead73.

I am a hockey guy thru and thru so it's no doubt I'll be buying it. But I am at the point where if during my season I play offline they call more power plays for me against the computer I'll be happy but of course only slightly. The people calling other haters really irks me. It's called passion for the sport of video game hockey and who cares if the complaints are repetitive a few are always trying to show others up if you don't like somebody's post ignore it that's how roll.

Re: NHL 14 Video & Blog - Goalie Collisions, Realistic Incidental Contact & Penalty C

The hitting looks good. Goalie collisions look welcome. One serious thing that I hope is fixed: When a goal is waived off for "goalie interference" it should not be an automatic penalty like it was last year. A goalie interference penalty and a goal waived off for interfering with the goalies ability to make the save are NOT the same thing and it seriously annoys me that EVERY time a goal gets waived off for this, it's a penalty.

It also annoys the crap out of me that there seem to be a lot of "phantom calls" for this, where your player never touched the goalie or made contact with the goalie several seconds earlier, there is no delayed penalty coming for the interference and you still have possession (whistle would blow if you had possession and there was a penalty) and then you score and all of a sudden it's a penalty and they show a replay where the guy who got the penalty isn't even near the crease. You have to go back into the replay and find out he bumped the goalie 4-5 seconds before the shot went in. I hope we don't see more of these with the new collisions and I would be ecstatic if we see less.

As you can see by my previous comments, I am a huge fan of revamped rosters.....makes the game feel more varied as each player has his unique characteristics.

I am just a bit worried that each player's accuracy will be gauged using shot percentage/ shots taken.

Maybe I am missing something but a perimeter player with good shot accuracy will have quite lower shot percentage than a power forward who.camps in.front of net with the same shot accuracy, because a lot more.of his goals will be point blank. I hope there is more to determing a player's accuracy than just his shot percentage.

For example, Jake Voracek, if you look at his shot percrntage this year (17 %) you would think he has great accuracy with his wrist/slap shots but his shot power/accuracy is actually the WEAKEST part of his game. Last yr he had a lot rebound, and weird bounces to.get his goals. Things.like this should be considered.

....Sean Couturier actually has quite good shooting accuracy, better than voracek, but his offensive iinstincts and aggressiveness need work. He also plays with linemates who are role players at best. He had a shot accuracy of 5.3%. Voracek's shot accuracy is not better than couturier's let alone THREE times better. As I said before, couturier actually has harder and.more accurate shot than voracek. Voracek is.just currently a much better offensive player than couturier and it doesn't hurt having giroux be his centermen either.
