You assume that "Every single person on this site" sees Madden the same way you do. This is not correct. In between the long winded yelling about previous Maddens and legacy issues, is someone saying they enjoy the game or are excited for the future and get lambasted for it.

I don't think that's fair and the generalizations around here can be crazy.


I don't know why the Gen 2 to Gen 3 leap is constantly referenced while the Gen 1 to Gen 2 leap is ignored. The 2-->3 leap had a short developed game that came without features. We already know Gen 4 has been in development for 1-2 years and will have current gen features. We know the Madden 06 scenario is not going to happen.

I don't know what to tell you man. We are basically just trying to help you understand how other people feel and what other people are seeing and have seen before. If you don't understand it, then you don't understand it. There's no reason to try to argue over it. I'm glad you enjoy Madden I really am. There are those of us that are waiting for a little bit better of a product than we are getting right now. It's not to say Madden is horrible it's just not where we want it and expect it to be by now. We understand the future looks bright, but we are in the present. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel, but we still have a ways to go until we reach the end. That's the best way I can explain it.

Good post, and I think it's a good idea to try to keep an open mind either way. I wasn't seeing that in others posts.

There is definately historical baggage with Madden, but there are some positives going forward.

wait that was Madden on PS4/Xbox One? You could have told me that was the PS3/360 version and I would have believed you. At least NBA 2k looks better on next gen so i at least have that to look forward to.

Although I wasn't impressed from what I saw from the little bit of pre-alpha footage I still preordered Madden 25 on the PS4 along so the PS4 of course. The future has great potential with this team. Remember a lot of the new gen games had more time to develop their games because a lot weren't worried about yearly releases. I expect the next Madden on PS4/Xbox One to be what we all have been waiting for. However I am sure I will enjoy Madden 25 in the mean time.

Maybe I need to elaborate on my same ish different toilet comment? I thought the statement spoke for itself. But let me breakdown what exactly it is I meant.

Same ish = same animations, same weightless players able to cut and glide on a dime, same tackles, same robo-cop running styles, same graphics, same jargon ea representatives have been selling us for the past 12 years. Everything is allegedly "new and improved", but really I'm flabbergasted that they're passing this off as next-gen gaming. I honestly do not see a difference between the xbox one and xbox 360 videos.

It was also bare bones, so maybe the added presentation and crowd atmosphere will make a difference. I don't know. Guess I was expecting more wow. I remember the wow I got making the leap from playstation to playstation 2. Is there a reason I can't get that wow factor from next-gen systems that are supposed to be leaps and bounds above their predecessors?
