Yes I understand they are two different things. But if they are leaving that much disc soace free, they are under utilizing disc space.

You can play that Madden has this and NBA 2k has this all day. For example, NBA 2k has player movement that mimics real life players (madden has QB throwing Animations somewhere in there --most times they dont trigger), NBA 2k has more realistic benches and crowds, more dialogue, sweat on their faces, etc.

Both companies have allocated reesources to where they see fit. I am just saying it looks like EA doesn't utilize all of its disc space. COuld EA use that space for more commentary, more cut scenes, more banners, or other presentation elements sure. Could they use it to add more running animations, catch animations, etc - I am not a programmer, but I am guessing yes.

As Rgiles said (probably the best argument) Disc Space or RAM have nothing to do with the bugs in the game. Whether it be gameplay, CPU AI, presentation, commentary, etc.

I mean in no disrespect to you JP. I am gald your optimistic about Madden. I am too every year. I buy it, I play it most of the year (Dont play much during the winter--I am pretty busy then)

I just accept it is what it is and I accept it. To me its a video game. I see its negatives, but I enjoy playing football. Heck I still play Tecmo Super Bowl and I am pretty sure the foot planting, cut scenes, oL interaction is awful...But the game is all sorts of fun

If you were expecting to come into this thread and read about presentation details, I feel bad for you son. Because there's 99 topics and presentation doesn't seem to be one.

Was in Madden 11, and for that matter I am pretty sure it was in 12 too.

Man, you put yourself out there to be responded to. And then when folks here don't agree with you, you mass tweet other GC'ers like the community is out of their minds.

I respect your optimism each year JP -- but on the other hand, you don't seem to respect pessimism to the same level. You'd like for everyone to be excited just as you are, but many of us didn't enjoy M13 to the degree you did. How could we share in your level of excitement?

The answer is we can't -- many of us were burned last year and want to SEE the improvement first. What's wrong with that?

Really Rgiles, you must see the irony in you posting this, lol.

Couldn't resist but that's the last time I'll mention it, carry on.

First let me start with, yes they could do a lot better, bugs, legacy issues, swapping features in and out, missing obvious things, etc. BUT they have gotten better, Infinity engine, ball trajectories, no-look interceptions, it looks like better locomotion and running game this year, etc.

On the RAM and disk space thing. One of the things that uses up disk space is textures, and they need to be loaded into RAM. 2K can have more disk space used up with better looking textures because they don't have as many players and big of a stadium to texture all at once, therefore using less RAM.

For example if you had an ounce of gold to plate stuff with, you could make a few things look spectacular or a lot of things look very good.

If they had a better codebase/engine maybe they would have more efficient code that uses less RAM and therefore have higher resolution textures (for example) on the disk, using more space, but just filling the disk doesn't make the game better!

I don't think you understand how forums work.

If you don't want someone to respond to your post, don't post it.
