Same here...Last year the sub par stuff just finally broke me down and I skipped the FB games

I mean thats saying something EA....I have been an admitted addict to video game football since 05


I tried and tried to fall in love with their games. I was the kind of guy who would spend months fiddling with sliders to find that perfect formula every year. But by last year it just finally broke my spirits




Whats the saddest part is that, the thing I missed most about not getting the game last year was not being able to participate in the

Im still trying to hold out hope that maybe once I see the full gameplay vids/play the demo then something might click. But that OL/DL non-news news just really socked the air out of me

Is it me or does it feel like they mailed it in? It just doesn't feel like they made THAT many updates or improvements to the gameplay. I get that they worked on the run game, but did they really just spend the entire time on that? Infinity Engine was expected the moment they said it wouldn't be in last year. Do QBs still look like idiots when they throw? Is the OL/DL interaction still awful? Is there STILL no Pass Interference called? I mean come on, people say that others complain too much and ask too much but there is a reason when they give us a minimally updated game each year.

I agree that the improvements do seem minimal this year. Also, the EA hype train in general has really slowed down compared to years past.

I am hoping the reason for this is they have now shifted a majority of their focus on the Next-Gen consoles. Personally, I am completely over this gen and the horrible engine they have been trying to build on for 8 years. Hopefully the developers, and suits at EA feel the same way and are planning on wow'ing us with an all new experience next-gen.

I don't think there is much they can do with the engine they currently have.

It's been a loooooooooooooooooong wait.

Every year, we in the OS community get a little smarter BUT there will always be new people who come along and get immediately sucked into the hype just like we all did when we were the noobs. The cycle remains the same:

Noob> forgiving> hopeful> frustrated>optimistic >angry> clinging to hopefulness> see same issues for 5 years in a row> give up> do not buy on release day anymore> rent> throw out window> get smart and trade in> divorce EA > DONE.

My 16 marriage to Ncaa football ended 2 years ago but there is still a part of me that hopes someday the old NCAA football will come back. Ncaa 06, why did you grow up and change? I dont even know who you are anymore.

If we finally get a football game next gen worth all the hype and disappointment of this gen, that will be one glorious day. I'll probably run around my block twice.

The pick doesn't really tell me much it looks very similar to the other years. I'm excited about this game and hopefully the changes they made will make for a better experience.

There is always a group of "this games sucks before I played it" on this board. Which is fine. But some of the post to me seem like ppl expect this game to be as real as football on Saturdays and that will never be the case. Ben Hamiular had a great point in his ign video. he said "fumbled snaps happen in real life, but if you fumbled a snap in the 4th quarter down 7 in your opponents redzone you wouldn't like that gameplay and would hate us for adding that." No matter what EA adds there are certain groups of ppl that will say, the line will never block perfect enough, the socks are not long enough, The numbers are too big, the jersey color is not right.

I'm not saying their latest offering was perfect. But they are making progress.
Ppl talk about the glory days of PS2 and all these older football games as if they were without glitches and flaws. The difference back then was that there was very limited online play and there was no youtube and ebook to help ppl learn glitches and money plays to circumvent the A.I. You had to find that on your own.

For all the ppl complaining about Divsion 2 schools not being in the game ....where they ever really? 90% of the division 2 rosters were a joke they were all generic with maybe the correct number and position. White players were black and vice versa. I think perspective is the key here.

Sorry to tell you, but Ben is WRONG. Dead WRONG. Yeah, the casuals who only want to win no matter what might hate it, but the guys who actually want a SIM game, would love this added to the game.

That statement is nothing but a cop out from him. One of his many lame cop outs that he's been using this entire console generation. He's a joke..
