Newsflash: this is the end of a very long console cycle and the team is doing what it should by tightening up the experience to get the best PS3 version we can possibly have.

Save the next gen features to actually wow you on next gen rather than being poorly done now.

Im actually very disheartened by the prospect of a new console.
I lost all my PS2 games in the transition to the PS3.
Id hate to think I have to spend another $300 and lose all my PS3 games just to play TheShow on PS4.

I agree that it would be nice to add, but it has to be done properly. If it's just cosmetic, there is no reason for it. But, if they built strategy into it, like an alert before the game saying there might be a delay sometime in the game, then you have to decide if you want to risk burning a starter just to pitch an inning or two, or have a bullpen start. And have to use strategy if there is a double header, like relievers are available for only one of the 2 games. I'm sure stuff like that takes a lot of programming, so I have no problem with not having it in the game.

Seriously? New scouting, new training, dynamic budgets, teams value players differently . . . what's the same?

I would suggest reading the fact sheet again

Re: MLB 13 The Show Fact Sheet

It took me an entire day to figure out how I wanted to articulate this post. The only thing I could think of was this: SCEA, you have developed the standard of sports gaming. For people like myself, who pour hundreds of hours into this game, you are truly doing us a service.

Baseball season cannot get here fast enough.

I hear ya. Having a starting pitcher go 4 innings. Then rain delay. So do you call a pitcher up for the double-header, etc. So much strategy involved with something that happens for about every team at least once a year.

I did remember reading somewhere that there will be a sweet spot in the throwing meter that will unlock more animations like "spectacular animations". Was that just for RTTS or was I imagining it.
The general size of the sweet spot is based on the players arm accuracy rating, however the angle a player takes to the ball and the animation the game chooses also modifies the sweet spot as well.

I guess it depends where you live or if your team has a dome, a non issue for some. Teams on the East Coast bigger issue!
