Whichever one you want. You can load custom rosters. (for offline)

Online I'm not sure.

The skill set of DT and FB aren't really the same, yet we see some teams putting DTs in to act as FBs on power goal-line runs. Can you do T eligible plays in Madden by subbing an OL at TE? I am glad you mentioned this because last Sunday I was watching some game, can't remember which at this moment but one team put in an OL at TE for better pass protection. Well the defense didn't bring a lot of pressure, they opted for more defenders in coverage, so the OL leaked out a few yards upfield. The QB couldn't find anyone open so he ATTEMPTED to dump it off to the OL playing TE to pick up a few yards but the OL couldn't handle the routine catch, bobbled it and a defender was able to easily come in to break up the play.

I instantly thought of Madden and how sensible it would be if there were animations to differentiate the skills for various players at various positions, hell, just animations for variation period. Not just a player with a low catch rating dropping the ball but animations that trigger, showing the player bobbling the ball, taking longer to secure a catch, allowing the defense a bigger window to break up the play. Just imagine if every jump shot in a basketball video game was either a net swisher or off the front rim brick, with no other variation of off the glass, rimming out(grow up), off the sides of the rim, etc, that would get repetitive fast. That's what happens in Madden, imo, due to the lack of proper animation diversity to differentiate football processes.

so ea is going to fix an error on the gaint uniform, but the chicago bears is going to be stuck wearing wearing a freaking orange pant that dont even exist. what a joke.

are you kidding me? Why would you want to go through the whole league to find out if there are duplicate numbers? This will especially be difficult being that there is no transaction log. I don't see why it should remain broken even with the ability to edit players.

I, for one, would be disappointed if they scrapped the XP system. I don't see them coming up with a realistic system in one dev cycle anyway, and I've always been upset when they do something then take it back the very next year. Is it perfect? No. Can it be improved? Yes. Do I believe that changing positions can coexist with it? Yes, similar to NCAA offseason position changes (which is realistic, most if not all position changes happen in the offseason).

I would like an OOTP model of inexact ratings and a scouting system that goes further then just the draft creating an importance on stats for evaluation purposes and creating a fog of war on how good a player is without having a predictable growth pattern IE Madden 12. Do I want them to rush it out on one dev cycle? Heck no, it could be worse then anything we've had if they do so particularly with the plan in place to use XP.

I understand and share the frustration with the realism, I truly do. But I want a functioning game, and OOTP has convinced me that what I want is not possible on current consoles. (Although I believe if we had ps2 graphics we could do a ton more with the ps3..just sayin)

You are understanding perfectly and this would be the best way to do it, unfortunately M13 wasn't built to allow for position editing. This logic will have to be added into future Madden's.
