After playing the demo a bit more I've concluded one very obvious flaw... Passing is way too easy. In the very short quarters, I'm managing over 300 yards a game now with around 80% completions. The coverage is just bad. Curl routes are money just about every time I've ran them and the safeties might as well have concrete blocks tied to their shoes.

It's funny too because I usually play NCAA and you would think at the college level, passing would be much easier but man you can really shred the D through the air in this version of Madden. Wonder if they're working on this also.

I'm not too concerned. If you have an elite quarterback you should be torching defenses. So long as you aren't doing it with guys like Tim Tebow and Terrelle Pryror I don't really see a problem. So long as you have good cornerbacks as well to. If you don't have good CB's you're going to get torched so long as they have good wide-recievers.

Edit: 18 QB's were completing 60% of thier passes last season. 4 completed over 65% (Romo, Brady, Brees, and Rodgers), and 1 QB completed over 70% (Brees).

10 QB's threw for over 4,000 yards last season as well. So, in general, yeah, QB's were torching defensive secondaries.

Liked what I saw from the demo.

Oh so happy not to have to listen to Collinsworth anymore LoL!

For real, more positive steps in the right direction. Trying not to prejudge too much based on the demo as there are still some very familiar things...as in issues...from the past present in the demo.

On the demo itself, nice that we get to play a full 5 minute game with full sliders and most options to monkey around with. The game presentation is pretty cool and very modern.

Looking forward to early release to make final judgements.

I was NY playing the 9er's... close game all the way through until 3 minutes left in the game and Manning got picked off by the Computer controlled 49ers..as he ran the interception for the touchdown..around the 10 yard line as he was still running towards the endzone he raised his hand with a Number one finger up in the air as he approached the endzone..after he crossed a few other teammates ran up and celebrated with him jumping up and down and the crowed went crazy.....

Oh that was freaking awesome!!! ...even though that interception made me lose the game.

Another thing i saw were the tip toe sideline catches are much easier to do this year...its awesome to float the ball over a defender near the sideline and the receiver will position himself and slow down next to the sideline out of bounce line to reach up and snag the pass before falling out of bounce...a lot of little stuff that make a huge impact on this game.

I know there are things not on this demo that we have yet to see in terms of animations, cut scenes,etc...cant wait for the retail version.

So I know I'm EXTREMELY late but I just read up on the new connected career mode...

So basically there's no franchise mode and no superstar mode, they're both combined into this mode. You can either choose a player or a coach to go through their career with.

To control a team, you would have to select a coach, which would be similar to the franchise mode, maybe without some of the things like team relocation, player potential etc. When you choose a player, it's similar to superstar mode. Am I correct with these assessments?

Exactly...you can choose any real life player or coach, or create your own. Also there is a nice selection of legendary players and coaches you can choose to be.

Re: Madden NFL 13 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)

This game looks all too cartoonish at his point. This is just too far into the series for it to look like this.

Also, the amount of quirky looking swatted passes was ridiculous which resulted in 3 interceptions where the ball was an inch off the ground. Way overdone there.

Someone asked was passing a bit too hard on All-Pro for anyone else. It does seem like the CPU defense was far too aggressive and intelligent in the secondary.

O-line blocking is just as stupid as it's always been.

And how is this Infinity Engine still allowing the SAME Madden tackle animations I've seen before. i.e the shot in the head animation when players collide for tackles?

Saw that quite a bit in my game. There just isn't much that peaked my interest to rush and buy this release. I will more than likely wait until September, but with a few other more interesting titles coming out, this may be yet ANOTHER year of simply no football for me at all.

Unbelievable.

One thing I noticed that was in Madden 12 as well is when you are in man defence, the pre-play option will show that one player is covering the RB and one is covering the FB (or TE). However after the play starts they switch. Its really annoying as I play as a LB most of the time so I end up double covering someone and leaving the other wide open.
