For the most part, the online players here have sympathized with offline players taking some hits, meanwhile before this all came to light the offline guys were extremely apathetic about online. Your line about "a lot of us don't care about online" hits it exactly on the head - it's borderline greedy how some of the people here are ready to riot over the fact that they're not the ones getting the new toys for the first time in a while.

This post has me facepalming so hard. "Online people don't get it?" Really? We spent how many years with next to no features, and we don't get it? We're the first ones who get it.

What I don't get is why so many people have these conspiracy theories and pretend (as you say Looman is doing) that they know what's happening behind the scenes. You don't. No one does.

And I'm with you. I also expect a lot of flip floppers - the difference is that I know many people will see their poor expectations exceeded, and there will be the same amount of people who will see their high expectations end in disappointment. It's the same every year, and this year is no different.

Sorry, but this post deserves more than a simple "thanks".

On another note, I have always been an offline guy, in fact, I need to look up some of my posts from 2009 & 2010 so that you could see that I was die hard offline only guy. NCAA 11 changed that and now I love playing in online leagues against my real life and OS buddies. I think a common misconception is that the guys who play in online franchises are the same guys who like to play online against randoms and that couldn't be further from the truth. Online franchises and random Play Now games are two completely different experiences with (for the most part) two completely different types of players. Considering them one and the same is pretty ignorant. Online franchise guys are really not much different at all than offline guys. We just like to share our experiences with other people. That's all really.

My hope is that next year all of the editing, imported draft classes, and fantasy drafts, etc. will be added in for both online and offline dynasties. And things like couch co-op will be added in for offline that way we can all be happy. Hopefully, Madden 13 is just the first step in a long process of making the perfect Madden.

Reading through this threat reasserts my position of not buying Madden for the first time in 20 years. I think the only way is if it gets great reviews and I find people who want to try and online franchise (as coaches since playing as one "superstar" is something I turn my nose at).

I just feel like if they truly wanted to improve Madden, it comes down to overhauling the gameplay and focusing strictly on that. It really leaves a bad taste that Looman sounds like he knows better than anyone else what the franchise needed more than anything, and it was turning the game into an RPG more or less.

Looman has been the lead on franchise since Madden 10. He was also the lead on last gen franchise that you all loved so much.

Out of the 32 guys in my franchise I think maybe combined we have 20 games playing randoms in lobbys. I haven't played a random bum since Madden 10. It's just not our style.

It wasn't meant to necessarily be an insult. Just a crude joke that seemed funny at the time, but I realized it wasn't that funny of joke, and it was more or less uncalled for. I kind of feel Douche-ish. But hey, what can I say, I guess I'm just angry - or whining that they couldn't include couch co-op.

But we will not get that this year Sure I Want that But I Can use Play Now To Edit Rosters and play Games

I could be completely wrong but I don't think the RPG aspect was Looman's brainchild. In an interview early last year, the current Madden Creative Director Mike Young, was the one espousing about he always wanted to introduce RPG elements to Madden. I believe Looman just wanted to basically rebuild HC09 in Madden and add on from there in the future. I like some of Mike Young's ideas, like the thing about draft storylines and players/coaches try to make comebacks but the RPG element isn't a direction I think was necessary. I think sticking with the HC09 progression format, where I believe each rating had a Potential, that was effected by coaches, coordinators and other variables, would have been the way to go but, oh well, just have to see how this RPG stuff plays out.

What is this RPG stuff? It is the same thing as in HC09 except the XP are applied to individual players instead of position coaches.
