Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head

Yup, it has gotten awful in these threads...so much that I mistakenly posted the below in the wrong thread that was also full of people talking crap to me.
---------------------------
Everyone keeps scolding me for wanting this game to be in any sense a quick way to play football the way I'd prefer to - with accurate players as I see their ratings and abilities.

Why try to make me feel guilty about that? I refuse to be made to feel like I should apologize for not wanting to go through tons of practices to "possibly" get the players where I want them. Yes, I agree that is realistic to the NFL experience, but I enjoy bypassing it to finally just get to and play the d@mned game, you know. Also, please, the assumptions that I must want all of my players cheesed out, it has to stop. It's annoying. All I want is to be able to quickly make breakout players have suitable ratings to keep the competition accurate, to keep that team accurate per helping them win or compete better right then and there when it is suddenly needed...and not have to restart over and over.
----------------------

I was seemingly the first person on this forum expressing fears and worries and being upset on June 4th about the lack of features. You would have thought I was the demon seed being attacked by EA developers themselves. It was total suck. Three weeks later, and there just keep being the same kind of people to the forums, new or old-and-just-checking-in. No matter. The issue is that those of us fearful the game is going to suck seemingly can't have opinions...but all the rest of you talking smack to us and saying how awesome the game will be...you guys are angels apparently. It's lame.

Yeah, and anybody who is excited for Madden is an EA employee or lacky. It's the same back and forth that has been going on for days now and it's pretty old.

Where it got out of control was when the people who were upset that roster editing wasn't in tried to derail other threads and bring every issue back to the lack or roster edit ability. Along with that came the outrageous exaggerations of what would happen as a result of not having that roster edit ability.

Go there and vote if you haven't already. It's only at 85 votes right now and is currently behind the likes of online head-to-head practice, player specific crowd support, and interactive sidelines. Spread the word and show EA it's the big deal that you believe it is.

Just as 87birdman said, "Discussions should incorporate both sides, but it seems like everything is directed back towards the negative like the positive doesn't even exist, and that is wrong. Because then it isn't a discussion it is complaining and whineing."

If the focus was kept on those particular things I don't think anyone would be pushing back, but there's just too many people who are pretending there's not a single step forward and the entire edition of Madden is one huge leap backwards. DNMHIII is a great example of someone who keeps it in perspective - he is pretty unhappy with some of the issues but doesn't hesitate to praise the good things, where certain others just want to pretend that good doesn't exist.

After about day four, civility and cool-headedness were lost among a lot of the OS posters.
The problem is when people make claims like you just did with this post.

You're happy with things which is great but you have to accept that there are things that were taken away from people that they have used their entire madden career that isn't going to leave them happy.

I agree that the discussion should be two sided but that goes for people who are happy with the game as well.

The fact of the matter is not everyone is going to see eye to eye. Why do we keep trying to force that on others?

Does it really anger you to see others not happy with the changes that much?

It doesn't matter to me anymore because no matter what we say I don't believe it will be in Madden 13 because of the word (Time) but what will make me leave madden alone like I did a few other games I liked even more so is if next year they say (We have a new thing added to madden this year now you can edit your players live NEVER BEFORE now the user can do whatever he likes and however he likes it) ...But that's next year I guess I will rent it this year to see if I'm going to buy first and that will be the first time in my life that I rent madden and not buy day 1.

See...everything about your post is pretentious. That's how you and many others are trying to force your assumptions to "good as gold" status and spot on. That's exactly what p*sses everyone else off. I don't care what factual information you actually used, you still don't use it the right way.

If you want people to stop all of the defensive posts while still trying to make our case...then quit being offensive.

Actually, there are some posters, who, like myself, have never tried the features that are missing in 13, but, some of us do fully support people that are without those features.

If something that I used in Madden was taken away, I'd be kicking and hollering and screaming too, but for how long? It's been three weeks since we've been notified those features didn't make the cut for 13. I feel both sides should cease the back and forth , the ball is in EA's court.

I don't mind expressing anger and telling EA how you feel. They've been bombarded with Twitter and other Madden forums for three weeks They would have to be naive if they haven't noticed all the negativity and noise throughout the internet.

My advice to all the folks that the the features missing doesn't affect them, take the higher road and don't respond. So far, that's worked for me. If people want to continue bashing EA for the decisions they made and it makes them feel better, that's on them.

Taking the higher road means you won't be called out for being offensive or defensive.

For one, I'm not making a claim. It's easy to see. Deuce nailed it - I can't tell you how many times my valid points have been met with something similar to "EA employee or lacky".

And two, the rest of your post doesn't even apply. I accept that there are those who won't be happy, I'm not trying to force my viewpoint on others, and I'm not angry about anyone's opinion on the game. My post didn't display anything like that.
