Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head

Here's the thing with regard to breakout stars being unaccounted for mid-CCM: if the weekly progression is properly implemented, breakout stars during the season will still be very possible. Lower-rated players will have lower weekly and yearly goals, and earn XP for completing those goals rapidly assuming they keep producing.

This isn't to dismiss the concern of no editing within CCM - I would like to see it return at least insofar as editing player numbers and equipment, in that order - but I don't think that the breakout star thing is as much of a concern because we should be able to replicate that within the confines of the mode.

No they won't understand. Those who think we are simply crying over nothing will not have a problem with year 2 in the franchise having only one QB above 6 feet tall. They won't care that he is wearing kicker shoes, that he has a LB bulldog face mask. They accept whatever they are given and are thankful to have it no matter if the paid full price or not. They take their lashes and ask for more. We're whining and operation sports would be a better forum if our kind wasn't here. We are the scourge of the earth because we have an issue with the game that has no bearing on gameplay. How dare we have an opinion on a game many of us have purchased since childhood.

I also like editing positions. A lot of times I shuffle players on the offensive/defensive lines, or defensive backs, depending on certain attributes (size/speed/etc). Last season the 49ers drafted a defensive end (Bruce Miller) and converted him to fullback. If I want to do that in the game, let me. "Its in the game" right???

As far as equipment goes, I'm not going to freak out if they get Justin Smith's wristbands wrong. But a huge pet peeve of mine is acquiring a guy that wears black sleeves when your team's uniform has no black in it, and you can't do anything about it.

I have a million other reasons why roster editing is necessary. I could go on all day. Too bad EA doesn't give a hoot.

I hope not , at least, not without repucussions, we are talking 20+ point jumps in these cases, these things are rare and shouldn't be easily replicated, maybe I'm missing your point, to see it happen once in a while on CPU team would be good but last year it was nice to be able to do it to specific players at will as it happened in reality

That's pretty much me too I get. A bit OCD about mirroring reality maybe but its my game isn't it?

Amen to that bro...CC is unproven so we have no clue what to expect but im betting the incoming players will yet again be all jacked up appearance/equipment wise...hooray for infinity but shame on EA and josh looman whatever his name is for pushin CC on us before it was ready ...and if all of our options are never going to be brought back or cant be used in CC....then they better bring back franchise mode for 2014...simple as that

Personally I do have high hopes for the future of CC and logically as a 'layman' in software terms I don't see why the missing things can't be integrated with the exception of NCAA importing( draft storylines?).
However I agree on it being rushed in whilst not ready, who made that decision I couldn't say but I'd guess they felt they had to upgrade online franchise somehow after it has been neglected and CC does do that well, as it does SS mode, shame they couldn't find a way to keep a seperate offline mode until CC was in a state to fully replace it, my opinion for what its worth?

Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head

When it was first announced about connected careers everyone was pumped for it....what a genius idea but by removing the edit function it has taken just as much away from the game.

To me it only makes sense if we can be assured of the following

1) Accurate ratings of all players. As an example in Madden 12 Shane Vereen and Taylor Price had very low speed ratings when in fact they are very fast players (i am sure others have examples) By allowing us to edit this we can ensure we have the most accurate rosters in the middle of a franchise. One of the great things said about connected careers is that there is no need to go back to start over a franchise. Well unless we can guarantee accurate ratings then we would have to start the CC all over again following a global madden roster update

2) when i play madden 12 some of the rookies come into the game with no gloves, wristbands etc. No player except Dallas clark does not wear gloves, why cant we update what equipment our players wear?? Are we sure that they know what Andrew Luck and RG3 will be wearing?...i dont want to wait till the first roster update and then have to restart by CC thereby going against excactly what was said about CC

3) as above with the expanded rosters in Madden 12 i sometimes get duplicated numbers for linebackers and D-line. In fact one time i had a rookie OLB who was No.1 - how can it be gauranteed this wont happen?

All of the above and many more issues were simple resolved by the edit function. We dont expect the game to be able to represent all the thousands of players in the NFL accurately that is why the edit function worked. If you do persist with leaving the edit function out then they must guarantee a perfect roster

please rectify this ridiculous short sited omission
