I think it's the other way around. I think it tries to unite everyone, the offline player and the online player. But like any advancement there are going to be those who are left out or behind. Those who can't for whatever reason follow. Should they be completely left out? It's unfair, but nothing ever is. If they give offline players the editing and draft classes, they want to give the same functionality to the online players. For whatever reason this couldn't happen so they proceeded without it. This doesn't mean that it wasn't possible or that it could not be implemented later, but with Madden's release schedule, they had to make some sacrifices.

I absolutely need these offline options, I can't play Madden online. I have xbox live gold and would buy the game new if I REALLLLY wanted it bad enough. I simply can't play any Ea game online. In this case, I can't even get updated rosters. Those who can have one less obstacle to overcome or one less gripe, but there are many gamers in my situation (not necessarily exactly like my situation) who for whatever reason (no highspeed internet, no live gold) will absolutely need those missing features. Building off of both is better.

Next year increment it further with some of the missing features better than they ever were, and owner mode options among other things.

Eliminating the disparity between online and offline is the point and is a very good thing.

The majority, if not all, the options offline gamers are currently understandably disappointed about not being in CCM and MORE, have been repeatedly left out for online play. No slider sets, no player salaries, no CPU trade logic, one year we had to pay for All-Madden online ranked games, forced QB vision, blah, blah, blah.

I am reading these post where people are stating they can't believe EA/Tiburon would do something like this, when EA/Tiburon have been "doing something like this" to online gamers the entire time. I can't tell you of the number of posts, which I might should search for, when someone predominately an offline gamer would state "I don't care about online or online franchise, just improve offline" or "online franchise is the minority" in reply to threads and posts about equating or combining online/offline Franchise. Also with some offline gamers saying a flippant, "just don't play online then", year after year.

I don't mean to be a first class arsehole and I honestly do hope these options are added back but this seems like chickens coming home to roost. Maybe now that more Madden gamers get a chance to experience having frustrating limitations placed on how they have attempted to enjoy the game, we all can come together as a community to push for changes that benefit us all.
Wow, I was typing a post that was almost exactly like this one when I saw yours. Could not have said this any better... You read my mind, lol.

Is that really the suggestion you got from my post, even with this ending?

I was pointing out to those, that for whatever reason these issues had never effected before or to this extent, that they have always existed for others. To use your rich and poor analogy, now that more of the previously Madden "rich" have experienced what it has been like for the previously Madden "poor", hopefully we can all work together to achieve a reasonably balanced middle, for everybody.

If you can't edit the game, edit real life to look like the game.

Were good to go with Peyton Manning. I just tweeted him and he tweeted back he would throw a couple air balls on a few passes that he would normally make, until Donny feels comfortable moving him back up to 99 Tom Brady status

What standard is this??....Don't try an make this a Sports Genre Problem...its mostly a Madden Problem

You know how pissed off the Forza/Gran Turismo community would get if they couldn't make their own setups with custom gear ratios/Tire Compound/Wedge anymore

because a couple of guys made setups that were better then everybody elses and beat their lap times

Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head

giving the same features to online and offline users is a great principle. however the way to implement that principle should not be taken things away to make things even. Also is anyone else as mad i am with the lack of response from EA? Looman calls editing a "little thing" then has nothing to say to back it up. He should take a look at mlb the show, a game that embraces "the little things" and strive to come anywhere close to the product that team puts out bc that game makes madden look like kindergarten finger painting.
