Doesn't bother me a bit. I'll be getting it.

I'm mos def going to wait to read everything on OS re: this title up to and including the first patch cycle before making a definitive decision...

However, based on how much was removed / sacrificed with regard to us 32 team / offline franchise / sim players, I'm pretty sure I'll be passing this year...

They done gone "too far" IMHO, this time 'round...

Oh, and for perspectives sake, this would / will be the first time I passed on Madden since I bought my first console in 2002...
Are you sure that you can't do that? You certainly can in HC 09.

why are people so down. i understand the negatives but of course thats all that people notice they never notice the positives.

i will give this madden a go and i have a feeling that this will be THE year. CC looks deep and as Josh looman has stated that eveything that has been shown is just the surface. He cant even tell people everything about this mode because it is so deep

cant wait for M13

It's a little harder to take that latter stance you mentioned, when EA added 4-5 new things, but took away 3-4 that were already there; to me, it doesn't hold the same weight.

Just a different viewpoint.
That is what happened though.

Just because things like controlling multiple teams, playing games outside of your own, and editing ratings worked in Madden 12's franchise mode, doesn't mean they automatically work in Madden 13's Connected Career mode. You have to start from scratch and things like online incorporation, new progression, the dynamic roster occurrences, XP, etc etc can easily throw those features out of whack.

So if it comes down to either holding off on CC mode for Madden 14 so that you can incorporate and balance these features, or release Madden 13 with CC but with these small omissions, I am all for including CC in Madden 13.

  • the main thing that irks me is that you cant play any other games on the schedule besides your game....why ....whats the difference if its simulated or played ...makes no sense to me.... i enjoy playing other rivalry/great matchups as i go...not to "RIG" the franchise but because i wanna play another game besides mine that matters..hope they can fix some of this stuff with a patch

Re: Sound Off: Has the 'Closed' Nature of Connected Careers Turned You Away?

I'm definitely turned away and have cancelled my pre-order. I still can't believe I won't be buying the new version of Madden this year because I've done so for over 10 years. 07-12 on the current gen systems (no 06 because inability to create players), and probably from 96-06 on past gen systems.

My main reason is the fact that I can't have a created player and be a 'coach' at the same time. This is the way I've always played Madden and the only way I really want to play it. I would create myself but still control the team because I like doing that aspect of the game as well. Never got into Superstar mode because of the lack of team management ability so I've always been a franchise guy. I don't play online and don't ever plan to do so. I'm glad I kept Madden 12 so I'll just be able to download an updated roster or something and play it again this year.

Very disappointed to say the least.
