I fail to see the problem? If you are playing as a COACH, why should you have control of the other teams?

The only thing worrying me is not being able to edit rookies as they come into the league, numbers being my major concern. I'm really hoping the implement a way to change their numbers, be it when you sign them you place a number on them or a way to edit them. Just praying now...

There are going to be alot of people out there who just don't care about these minor (Yes I said minor because lets be honest, it's just spilled milk) reductions in 13. EA is comfortable releasing this game as is because 1.) they know it will sell like hot cakes due to the upgrades and additions they did add, and 2.) they now have a solid foundation to improve upon for next years game. Here's my point. When dealing with a new engine that is built in a year, there is ALOT of work that goes into tweaking it to make it remotely releasable. That can take months to do. Features that can't get worked out in time get cut. I guarantee the reason you can't edit rosters and equipment has to do with aligning those changes among all other users in your CCM. But wait... I'm sure that just works perfectly through the use of EA magic huh? (Thats sarcasm if you couldn't tell) It's time to stop setting your expectations so high and be realists... After all... It is another EA game...
Casual players most certainly care about the missing features, are you kidding me? Player editing is huge for casual players. Not for accurate sim results, but to play around with their favorite players.

Because I paid $60 bucks for a football video game.

Why make a football video game that doesn't allow you to play football games?

Re: Madden NFL 13 CCM Will Not Allow You to Play Other Games on the Schedule, Only Yo

This just sealed the deal for me, I'm not buying Madden 13. Now I'll admit, while I normally controlled one team, and sometimes for excitement I would play other games during the week, I never really thought about controlling all 32 teams. I always thought it would be too time consuming, but it wasn't until I decided to put together a Franchise in Madden 12 controlling all 32 teams simulating the 2011 Season. I would pull up NFL.com and the results week by week to ensure the records were correct and every team won when they did and lost when they lost. I had the playoff games right and got it all the way through to a Patriots-Giants Super Bowl.

That was when it hit me, I thought how fun would it be to play each game(usually only 5-7 minutes a Quarter) and play out my own NFL and my own season. To have my own story lines that I could make up to keep things exciting throughout Franchise, I thought for Madden 13 seeing all the improvements, I thought it was going to be even more fun.

Now I'm just disappointed that they removed many user customization features and mostly the ability for me to play out my own NFL universe in Madden. To be honest I was already thinking about some cool story lines to play out in my Franchise for Madden 13 but guess not.

Define casual... When I think of a "casual player" I see someone who wants to pick up the controller and play a few games in "Play it Now." They may venture into CCM to play around a season or two but nowadays it's about playing against your bud from across the country online for bragging rights. The rest of the CCM is more like EA throwing us "Hardcore" fans a bone. The finer details that wasn't at the top of the list got nixed and will be held off until they have the time to fine tune it for next year. Simple as that. And again, I'm sure allowing a user to modify uni's and update rosters in CCM is much more painstaking to develop and make work properly online than anyone is giving credit for. Code doesn't write itself nor does it work properly the first, second, or third attempt. You have to be realistic about these things.

Because so far they have never been able to give CPU teams good enough AI to build competent teams. If you control multiple teams you make the league better as a whole and give your team more competition.
