Madden NFL 13 CCM Will Not Allow You to Play Other Games on the Schedule, Only Yours

You don't create him, you just play basically as him. And if you get fired, which you have the ability to turn off, you can take control of the next coach of the Vikings. I don't believe there is any more OC, DC, ST, etc. but those really didn't change anything before anyway. And you still have complete freedom over signing, trading, cutting, and drafting as you had in M12.

Yes, you are able to do all the front office moves during the season and off-season.

They've been doing this with every Madden this generation. There are still elements from Madden 05 that are not in these versions of Madden. It's not anything new.

Personally, even if I gave a crap about any of that stuff, personally I would look at what we're getting in return before griping. After a few years of being told that online franchise is just not a popular enough mode for them to spend time on, I am ecstatic that they have added so much. And really, the same logic applies to the stuff they took out. Only a tiny minority would care.

Maybe they can add in via patch or before the game ships, an ability to do most of that stuff for OFFLINE CC's only. But, can you make an offline CC an online one at a later date? If so, then I am ok with them leaving everything out. I can understand a lot of those omissions to prevent BS in online CC's, but offline ones you would probably be ok.

But maybe there are balance issues, too. If some of the challenges for XP revolve around leading the league in certain categories, why should you be able to control your competition? If you edit a bunch of ratings, maybe it messes up XP. And I can't imagine them having imported NCAA rosters that aren't all goofy ratings wise. Furthermore building so much stuff into the CC mode like scouting, stories, etc and making it so dynamic, makes stuff like that impossible.

tl;dr - full featured online leagues > all that stuff

I think that 10 was supposed to be the revamp but never happened. Maybe that was just because the Head Coach guys were coming on board but I do remember that franchise was supposed to be improved then and wasn't.

Head Coach 09 was pretty darn fun and it's clear that the ideas from that series were never intended to make it into Madden. They had a great base set for a solid franchise in Madden too which saddens me.

I still was hoping Create A Stadium was coming back in franchise, and that's from the PS2/Xbox days.

I agree with you though. Had they done a lot of things differently long ago, Madden would be a real quality game instead of what we have now. Madden 13 might turn out to be a decent game, but the football is still very screwed up and it has a ways to go. As long as they keep signing on the dotted line with the NFL, they can make us wait as long as they want.

I just thought about how I am going to need you and Illy, maybe others, to get the game so you guys can at least team manage the Giants and Lions from the web in my CCM. lol

You don't have to deal with the game play to do that but we can all still be in a CCM together that way.
