The in-game commentary examples in the podcast for a first year were pretty impressive to me. You have your opinion, but I think the majority of the people who have heard the newer samples were at least somewhat impressed and felt like it is solid. It's a HUGE improvement over what we have had and doesn't take away from the game and I find it pretty immersive from what I'm hearing, but to each his own.

People keep talking about Kevin Harlan, but NBA 2k has had him doing the play by play since NBA 2k6, so that's comparing apples to oranges. Year one of Jim Nantz vs year six of Kevin Harlan. A better comparison is Kerr vs Simms and from what we've heard Simms sounds just like he does in real life, so I'd say Madden is right there with 2k when it comes to comparing the color commentators.

You can't be serious. There's a lot of good coming out of M13 as of now, but from what we've heard from commentary is not one of them. It's not like they started commentary this year, it began a little after M12 was released. Now the pregame sounds good but hopefully they're just giving us WIP commentary still. But it doesn't take more time/experience with Phil & Jim to do Madden to get things like them talking about something and then stop & abruptly, yet smoothly, go into awe on a big play or hit.

Can you honestly say that what we've heard, disregarding the OS/Pasta Padre video, isn't much better than what we got last year with Gus Johnson and Cris Collinsworth?

People are still commenting on the commentating in the not released EA game play video of an old mix, but OS/Pasta released old mix.

It's been explained several times.

The recent podcast is a newer mix.

Listen to this podcast and look at the comments in this thread and tell me it's the same as the old mix.

I like how the commentators don't even mention the key players for each team, or we don't even see the stats for the players when we see them on the sidelines or practicing. Plus, they should show the fans cheering as the commentators introduce themselves, then show them.
