I love the idea of 3D commentators and all. But actually, he said its been forever since a sports game has done that.

Uh no......actually UFC has had 3D announcers for a while now.

Still cool though.

Casey, you have your complaints from yr to yr as well, you only voice them to yourself or your local peers. What's "face palming" to me is the fact that EA still doesnt get it at all to be such a "bigger" team and a more "focused" group of devs.

Its already to the point where we are hearing the "we couldnt get to it this year" blah, blah, blah.

I mean, what does the "team" at tiburon consist of and what do they do all day? Im sure the team should be broken down into other teams to work and focus on certain areas of the game and not just working on fine tuning stuff that should have been there.

Just as much as the complaining is getting old, so is the excuses and reasons EA cant get madden the way we all feel it should be at. That face palm worthy!

I hear and read all these new bits and pieces of stuff about madden 13 and I get a lil excited until I pop in madden 12,11,10, 09, etc, etc, and I realize how these things dont gel so well after the 1st week or so of playing the game online and off.

Yea, we have a feature for players having to see the ball before they catch it, but we all know good and well from past experience that for online players this will not be the case. Time is never on our side regarding madden and no matter how excited we get for news on this game, its all come down to execution of it once we get to play it
To be quite honest I voice them on here and on my site, and in my videos. I just don't go on...and on...and on, and on..... In every thread that gets posted like some people do. My positive/negative opinions are just that, MY OPINIONS. Just because I don't like or do like something doesn't mean its good/no good. I see threads and reply with the best summations I possibly can both positive and negative. I just see no point in saying the same thing over and over and over and over.

And just to piggy back off of that.... Where should Madden be? And where are you referencing that it should be at "X"? I feel Madden should have some things in that they currently don't right now... But that doesn't mean its the gospel or that I'm right. Ya know?!?

I can point to pass trajectiories this year. Many people have screamed that it should be the hands down number one priority. Ok, they did a ton of work on...it was fixed as of February when I was there, now the same people are screaming about "I can't believe they didn't work on (insert noun)". It's just goofy... Plain goofy. In my opinion and also a lot of long timers on this site... That no matter what they do, a small loud group will not be happy as long as the game they are playing says "EA". Don't get me wrong.... Madden has issues and I can understand people wanting more because I do as well... But at some point the blatant bashing and complaining has to go, its just not productive.

Also, I am assuming you are talking about June 4th or are you real excited for the audio blog? For me, it is June 4th. If they have added physics into the game and a franchise mode on-line that mirrors the offline version then I am 100% on board.
Yeah, I mean next week I will be down there getting to see where the game is at currently. We could see the direction last time, I am just looking for a more tuned version so I can see how things are going to be a little further along. There were things I was happy with Gameplay wise and also some things that have me worried. It's been a couple of months so we will have a much greater view of how things are implemented. Hopefully the parts that have me slightly worried are further along and I can see the end result a little better in terms of how they interact with everything else going on in the game.

I wasn't going to respond to this, but I just can't let it go. This is exactly why you get the crap you get from some guys on this site. I've been on about 5 threads today, and I haven't seen any "blatant bashing and complaining". What I have seen is valid discussion between many different fans of football gaming. Some fans who are very pleased with Madden, some who aren't and some who lie somewhere in between. What's not productive are most of these posts like yours. This is a discussion thread, that's what people do. They DISCUSS. Maybe in the threads we should have more discussion like this:

Madden is absolutely the greatest thing ever. I don't know what I would do without Madden. The developers at Tiburon are incredible. They can make a CD player out of chicken wire and turn crap into gold. I've been blown away by the incredible strides Madden has made in the last 6 years. In fact, it's so good, I'm going to ask the guy at Gamestop if I can pay 70.00 instead of 60 for it when it comes out.
Guarantee your post doesn't appear if this stuff was plastered everywhere. You go into every thread that doesn't supply you with affirmation that your favorite game ever isn't really everything that YOU think it is and have to attempt to "put the complainers in their place". The best thing to do is avoid the threads if you can't present a valid argument/discussion point. Most of us are not 12 as you seem to think. Hating a game because it's made by EA is a childish argument and is something that should be reserved for xbox.com or the forums at IGN. Many of us started playing football games and Madden long before you did, so keep that in mind.

With respect to the fact that they put in a bunch of work on a few things... Your reaction is EXACTLY what many of us would expect from Tiburon. "We listened to the fans and worked long hours, so we want a pat on the back, even though massive issues that break the game are still there for years on end." I don't feel bad for them, just like customers don't feel bad for me where I work. That's my job, to build a product that is worth the expense of the customer. One year is a long time to wait for a lot of guys. When you are talking about several years, they get a little frustrated, especially at 60 bucks a pop.

No one has an issue with you loving everything Madden and Tiburon. That's awesome. However, I take issue with you being critical of people who don't. Especially when those people present their case in an intelligent and mature manner, which 99% of the guys on here do.

Great job of putting words into my mouth. My essential point is the few make the majority look bad. You seem to forget that I got started in online sports gaming through OS so its not like I hate the site or the people here. You assume because I don't scream and cry about something on here in 49 different threads that "I Love EA". That's pretty much incorrect. I don't hate EA, or any other company. But being able to step back from the issues I have with Madden and NCAA I do see A TON of blind hatred being thrown around. I see it getting throw at Take 2, Activision, Sony, Microsoft as well. To me its a case of playerhating.

Re: Madden NFL 13 Video Interview - EA Tiburon Breaks Down Some of the New Changes

CRM, when you were down there last time did they tell you all what this "monumental" gameplay edition was going to be? Obviously you couldnt tell us what it is, but would YOU consider it a MONUMENTAL gameplay edition?

SO much hinges on June 4th for me. I want to get on board the hype train this year but I need that monumental gameplay edition to be something legit. Ideally a change to the physics engine to make it more like FIFA and NHL.

It will most certainly be a port, there's no way EA takes a year off of their flagship sports title to rebuild it from the ground up. While they were able to do that with the NHL sku this gen, they eventually hit a wall and that series stagnated due to more than likely memory limitations. I just don't see EA forgoing the first year sales of a launch NFL title once MS and Sony release a new console cycle.

I actually feel worse for Sony in this regard since the PS3 never seemed to really hit a stride at all until the last 6 months to a year if that.
