How about the WR/DB interaction coming off the LOS, is it still just the initial jam only or can collision animations be triggered anytime in the route? Here as an example of what I mean in this FIFA 12 video described in the very beginning. http://easf.www.easports.com/uk/foot...act-mchardy-02

Are the receiver and the defender really fighting for the ball in the air with player interaction animations or just making two separate attempts on the ball? Last year receiver/defenders could get stuck in misplaced catch animations like they were oblivious to the other player going for the ball.

Can receivers trigger pass defense pass stripping animations to attempt to prevent potential interceptions?
I've played FIFA, so I understand the jostling that goes on. I can't see any evidence that that has changed much.

As for the in flight dynamics...there are both. Many of the animations are the players acting independently, but there are also combined animations. That said, with the difference in trajectory it seems like the non-meshed animations work together better. There are still some instances (there is one animation I really don't like) where they look a little mismatched, but it's MUCH better than '12 in my opinion.

If there is a way to try to break up a potential interception I can't find it.

I agree dude I was so pissed when I saw no new equipment it might be diffrent though I watched the broadcast and they said they were just showing off the gameplay and that everything right now is a work in progress even the graphics hopefully we'll get some new equipment

Does User controlling a receiver or defender now prevent or toned down being able to intentionally run completely off the route or where the ball is headed after the throw and then manually sprint/speed bursting back to the ball in time to make the catch? Basically zig zagging all over the field with a receiver or defender while the ball is in the air.

Also does the tightening of the User control for receivers and defender tone down the effect of manually sprinting/speed bursting when taking User control of a player that should already be running/hustling down field? For example, last year if a receiver had a couple of steps on a defender on say a streak, once the ball was in the air, a User could often take control of the "beat" defender and get a manual speed burst using sprint to catch up, to either bat down or intercept the pass. I would think a defender running down field covering a receiver on a streak would all ready be running full speed, not baiting the QB like Deion Sanders. lol. I hope you get what I am asking.

Let me see if I can find what I am talking about in the video.
I've been playing with this a bit more. If you throw a corner route and lead in a certain direction, the receiver adjusts pretty quickly and it looks a little awkward. The receiver is looking, but I think from the game play camera it seems a little bit robotic. Still not crazy like I think you are afraid of, but it's noticeable. I'll include it in my notes from today.

Likely because routes are mostly straight lines and a real person would travel on an more elliptical path it just strikes me as odd.

Just thought about, is there anyway you can make a separate thread letting people know that you are checking things and trying to get fixable issues addressed so more people can add input?

I don't know how long you will have this hands on time but the more POVs about what to check for, the better, imo. They can only fix what they can fix. Just a thought and I understand if that's not something you feel like is needed.

My years of frustration with NCAA/Madden stems from years of mediocrity. I appreciate them making these changes, but at this point in the game, we should be talking about next gen features... NOT stuff that should've been included in 07/08. Someone stated earlier about EA having tunnel vision and I totally agree. I mean EA has so much to work with, but they still limit their games to a few tweaks per year. So since this year is focused on passing... will next year be dedicated to the running game? I refuse to settle for less and that's why I haven't bought a football game in the past 3 years. Every other genre is making strides and using ground breaking technology... like demos for the new Unreal Engine or the new engine for Crytek. And here EA is FINALLY getting pass trajectory right??? By now we should have full fledge pre game shows, halftime shows, and post game shows. DB/WR, OL/DL interaction should be life like, and ratings and style of player should matter like UFC 3. I want to see the difference between possession receivers, speed receivers, and all around beasts like Calvin Johnson. The sidelines should not look like a cardboard cut out. Players should react like they do in NBA 2k when you run into a coach on the sideline. The animations should look life like. I can tell from the "Sizzle" video that those animations are basically the same from years past. I can go on and on about these issues. I know some of you are so desperate for a decent football game that you'll get excited about any improvement... and that's cool with you. But I'm 30 yrs old, have a mortgage to pay, and I refuse to waste my hard earned cash on a mediocre product, when there are so many other AAA titles I can enjoy.

I'm about done for the day (25 more minutes) and I'll be doing the same tomorrow and Friday. I'm not entirely sure I can continue doing the same thing tomorrow, but I'll try to check in.

If my comments turn into a firestorm I'm obviously not going to continue doing this.

I hope for the next-gen consoles the launch game doesn't have a bunch of issues again. NBA Live 06, Madden 06, NCAA 07, NASCAR 08, etc. were all poorly executed and probably rushed.
I remember the initial 06/07 games on next gen from EA being some of the worst games I have ever purchased they felt like tech demos lol
